GERMANY: Woman Convicted Of “Offending” Migrant Gang Rapists Receives Longer Prison Sentence Than The Rapists
The Publica ^ | June 23, 2024

Posted on 06/23/2024 9:20:36 PM PDT by grundle

A 20-year-old woman in Hamburg, Germany, has been sent to prison after making “hateful” remarks towards a migrant who was involved in the gang rape of a child. The woman is just one of 140 people being investigated for making “harmful comments” towards the rapists.

The horrific assault took place in 2020, and involved multiple groups of migrant men independently attacking a 14-year-old girl in Hamburg’s Stadtpark over the course of one night. The park had become a popular hang-out spot for youth during the COVID-19 lockdowns, and the girl had been there drinking with her friends. But they became scattered after police swept the park and broke up groups while enforcing social distancing measures.

Confused and alone, the girl was defenseless against the first mob of four predators.

The men took turns on the girl, repeatedly raping her over an extended period of time. They robbed her of her wallet and cellphone before leaving her. Traumatized and disoriented from the first attack, and having no method of calling for help, the girl was assaulted a second time by two more men who took advantage of her vulnerable state.

Disturbingly, her assailants had begun inviting other men to rape her via their chat groups, gleefully sharing the news that there was an isolated teenage girl in the dark park with no potential witnesses.

The child was attacked a third time by a single man, and then a fourth time by three more men, who dragged her into a bush and sexually assaulted her.

Finally, the child managed to break away and ran, though pursued by her rapists. Eventually, she came across people who recognized her traumatized state and immediately called the police.

A total of 11 men were initially charged, but two were acquitted quickly due to a lack of DNA evidence. The sperm of nine of the men, however, had been successfully recovered from the girl’s body.

Five of the men were in possession of German passports, while the remainder were not citizens of Germany. Among those charged, none were of German heritage. The rapists were identified as a Pole, an Egyptian, a Libyan, a Kuwaiti, an Iranian, an Armenian, an Afghan, a Syrian, and a Montenegrin. The men had a team of 20 defense attorneys arguing their innocence.

Videos of the first and third rapes had been recorded and shared by the assailants to contacts through WhatsApp, but the videos were deleted before the case could be heard in court. Witnesses who did see the footage before its deletion did testify that it depicted clear sexual assault, with one noting that the girl had been holding her hands over her head in a protective position.

During the trial, the victim, who now suffers from PTSD as a result of the night of abuse, was called upon to speak about what happened to her. While she recounted her horrific ordeal, the men showed “no signs of remorse” and at least one is said to have almost fallen asleep during proceedings.

However, despite DNA and WhatsApp evidence, eight of the nine men convicted walked free with probation and spent no time in prison at all. The ninth was sentenced to two years and nine months in prison without parole.

The case caused outrage in Germany, both for the brutality of the rape itself and the lenient sentences given to the rapists. As a result, one of the men had his identity and phone number circulated on Snapchat by furious sleuths.

Angered by the news of the case, a 20-year-old woman from Hamburg messaged the number through WhatsApp. The unnamed woman called him a “dishonorable rapist pig” and a “disgusting miscarriage.” She added: “Aren’t you ashamed when you look in the mirror?”

The targeted rapist then reported the woman to police, and she was charged with sending him insulting messages.

The woman has now been convicted and sentenced to a weekend in prison for her remarks — meaning that she will have spent more time in jail than 8 of the 9 rapists. In court, the woman apologized for her remarks, saying she acted out of a “reflex” upon hearing the sickening details of the case.

But, according to the Hamburger Abendblatt, this woman is not the only person who could be facing a conviction for insulting the rapists.

Authorities in Hamburg are reportedly investigating 140 people for offenses related to issuing “insult, threats, or other detriment” towards the Stadtpark predators.

That started with Bismarck’s wars of unification in the 1860s. Earlier, the French had been the big disruptors and disturbers of Europe’s peace, but Frederick the Great’s armies had been quite effective. Prussia punched above its weight class.

Churchill said it in 1943 after Nazi Germany surrendered in North Africa.

Speaking of disrupters, I was taught in high school history that Britain's foreign policy, for many centuries, was to prevent the European continent from uniting. Britain always meddled to thwart whichever nation was rising in power, switching sides as needed.

It gave rise to the term perfidious Albion.

True, sir, and it is depressing to see that nowadays some people still subscribe to that propaganda baloney from more than a century ago.

These traditions still exist, though academic „Mensur“ fencing has become rare nowadays.

Fencing is a tradition that, among German students, goes back to the Middle Ages, when the first universities were founded.

They were armed with swords, in order to defend themselves on the way to their universities, since they often had huge amounts of money with them ( to pay for their tuition and keep). Thus, from sword practice of the Middle Ages there sprang the „Mensur“ of the latter 19th century.

By then, it was done for sport, since phenol had been invented as a disinfectant. This made the practice non- lethal, as the risk of infection was done away with.

My fraternity still does it, though the days of the extremely bloody Mensur fencing are long over, ending in the Thirties when all German fraternities were illegalized.

No, not Germany, but the people who rule over her 🙁

P.S.: thank you, Mr./Ms. Brooklyn Attitude. Out goes one thing, in comes the same thing…

Really, it’s bitter.

Interesting. I read it had been made illegal just before WW1 but it looks like it was brought back in the 1930’s

Do you agree with my assessment of Germany going from one extreme to the other? (comment 27)

Sometimes outsiders can see these things, and sometimes we are just misinterpreting.

Actually it’s a very old saying. Machiavelli said something similar in the early 16th century: „They are proud and overbearing in victory, humble and fearful in defeat“.

But he was referring to the French.😀

There are some very nasty sayings about the English, and, dare I say it, about Americans, going around in mainland Europe. Still, I shall refrain from quoting any of them, as they are in no way conducive to a serious discussion.

Yes, many of those scars look very grotesque indeed.

Please allow me a remark: in a few cases, a Mensur really took the form of a duel, i.e. if some student had gravely offended a member of another fencing fraternity, or was in another greater personal conflict with him.

In those days, a Court of Honor, composed of other students or former students from neutral fraternities, had to examine the case.
It had the last word whether the offense to the„plaintiff“ challenging the „accused“ to a „Kontrahage“, i.e. a duel-like Mensur, was regarded ascommensurate with the offense. In many cases, the accused was simply asked to apologize formally to the one whom he had offended.

However, seldom a „Kontrahage“ was approved by the Court of Honor, and the resulting Mensur was, in this case more of a real fight, a brawl, than a sport.

This all the more, as it was sometimes fought with sabers instead of the traditional smallswords. It was all the more dangerous, as well as being illegal.

And on the legality of the standard Mensur: before WW one, the enforcement was very lax, although it was still illegal in theory (Mark Twain noted this in his book „A tramp abroad“,in which he describes his encounters with a fencing fraternity in Heidelberg, whose guest he was).

After 1919, the persecution became much harsher, and Mensur fencing had to be conducted in secrecy. Still, it reached a pinnacle in those days, although it still was done mostly for sport. In 1933, the Mensur was legalized, but all fraternities, fencing or not, were outlawed by 1936. Mensur fencing was outlawed in 1937 once again, and every student with a smite was dismissed from his Alma mater. After 1941, it became even tougher, since such students were by then generally seconded to front duty.

P.S.: Wikipedia has an article about academic fencing, which is quite OK. I found no bigger faults in it.😀

The Red Baron cannot have had a smite, i.e. a Mensur scar, as he had never been to university - he was a military officer by profession 🙂

Nearly all officers with smites had been reserve officers, for, as academics, they were doctors, lawyers, teachers etc. by profession.

Sorry, but not quite.🙂

Hitler superimposed the „Sondergerichte“, the „special courts“, with the „People’s Court“ at the top, over the regular legal system, because the latter was not compliant enough.

Same thing with the Waffen- SS, after the Army was still found to contain pockets of non-compliance…

The Allies imposed guilt on us. Yes.

And I have an idea: after the power elites in the West realized that this „cowing“ of the surviving West Germans, and instilling a national inferiority complex in them, with the help of those hellhounds from the Frankfurt School (a pox on them) had made their country supine and helpless, they said (possibly around 1960):

„Wow. That really worked like a charm. Let us apply this medicine to our own respective peoples, too.
This way our power will never be challenged - and we shall get the international big business community on our boat as well. They need mindless customers who pay indiscriminately for their goods, after all; not self-conscious individuals who can discern what is good for them and what is not“.

Just a thought. If there should be truth to my guess, Lord Acton would be vindicated once more: „Power corrupts, and absolute power corrupts absolutely“.

There is some truth to is. After all, in German culture, there always has been this drive to excel.

We have always had few raw materials, not particularly fertile soils (for the most part), nor a particularly blessed climate- and our geographical situation, smackdab in the middle of the Continent with not much of a coastline, could hardly be worse.

So you had to excel in being hardworking and/or ingenuous, thrifty as well as observant. The downside has always been that many of us are too pedantic, too much sticklers for the details.

I think it’s not a coincidence that we do have one of the world’s highest incidence rates of autism (highly functional or not) - there is a strong genetic component to it. Yours truly is one of those, too😀

Perform well, and you will get praise, perform badly and you will bring yourself and your family to shame.

Maybe this is it…though I utterly fail to see what was supposed to be so imperialist about the few colonies in the Second Empire. Yes, there were some who thought that they could take on the British Empire, but in 1912 they rolled over and declared the naval arms race ended.

Simply it was more or less that in 1870, with the Second Empire, Germany was back on the international stage, from whence it had de facto disappeared in 1648.
As a fellow Freeper named dfwgator once wrote, Britain, Russia and France were unhappy with the „new boy on the block“, especially since France had invaded the German lands once per generation (at least) from 1635 to Napoleon, making clever use of the power vacuum in Central Europe. Who doesn’t like a neighbor who can be used as a punching bag? 😁

After all, Germany‘s military power was, until the 18th century, mainly used in the Balkans to repel the Ottoman onslaught. Well, it is no coincidence that France and Turkey were allies, on and off, from 1541 to the Crimean War. It was not until WW one which found them as enemies.

Same stuff with the British. There had never been a war between the British and us until 1914 - London even supported Germany often in her fights against France.

But as you all know: Nations have no friends. They are not individual human beings, after all.
Nations have interests, and, although these mostly change slowly, they are not immutable.

Given half a chance they’d be here in a heart beat.

“The Allies imposed guilt on us. Yes.’’ Like Hell they did!. You Germans, those of that generation anyway, were guilty the moment they put that shrieking , anti-Semitic Austrian misanthrope in power!

“Fuhrer befiehl wir Folgen!’’ they all screamed.

Let’s play, “What If?’’.

What if Nazi Germany had won the war, a war it had every intention OF winning

We wouldn’t be discussing this right know and I’d really know how to speak German.

Please calm down.

I wouldn‘t be here either, since (pardon me when I repeat myself), since, handicapped as I am, I would have been murdered, as my great uncle was, who suffered from the same as I do. And his cousin didn‘t escape either…

And what I was saying, I understand the anger at all the unspeakable things perpetrated by the Nazis and their collaborators.

What had been unclear to me was that not long afterward, the Powers that Be in the Allied nations used similar tactics to shame their own populations.

What logic is to it. The Allies did not genocide anyone. Thus, the accusations from their own power elites appear preposterous to me.

Thus, my assumption was that this was an evil trick, perpetrated on the peoples of America, Britain etc. by their Mighty Ones. The rulers against their own people.

That is all I wished to say, and I am baffled, why they would act like this.
