President Trump has a campaign event scheduled at the Liacouras Center at Temple University on Saturday. Not far away from the North Philly campus, the S.S. United States floats on the Delaware in South Philly where it is docked. It's fate is uncertain but the clock is ticking following its eviction from the pier where it has been paying $850 a day in rent. The ship must leave by September 12th. Unfortunately, the Rats running the city, state, and the corrupt globalist occupyng the White House, can't find the money to dredge around an abandoned wharf just north of the great ship's current location to keep the ship from being sunk as a reef or scrapped. Will Trump make hay on the pending tragedy of the S.S. United States?

Thanks.
Blacks want to hear how DJT can help them get out from under the oppressive thumb of the Democrats. Visiting that ship would be counter-productive.

Do you think the inner-city blacks care about that ship? They want to hear how Trump can get them out of the bind the Democrats have put them in.
Restoring the ship in Philly means jobs, jobs, jobs. Trump doesn't have to mention the ship at Temple, but he can make a stop and use the ship as a backdrop to rip the Rats for not doing more to save the ship. The taxpayers payinig to dredge a berth at an abandoned pier and giving the ship a free berth is an investment in bringing jobs to the city for people. Once the ship gets in next to the pier, its not leaving any time soon. Philly has the unused space the ship needs, and its not productive at present. Keeping the ship in Philly is a no brainer.

Inner city blacks don’t care about that ship. They want to hear how Trump can help them get out from under the oppressive thumb of the Democrats.
They don’t care if the Dems did nothing to save the ship.
It would be counter-productive for him to visit that ship.
Trump must stay on message.
It’s called winning strategy.

You mean that inner city blacks don't understand that restoring a ship means jobs? I can remember when Philly politicians fought to get U.S. Navy ships overhauled at the Philly Navy Yard and not at Newport News, VA. This isn't that much differnt.

The SS United States has a cameo appearance in the classic movie West Side Story
In 1961 when that movie was released, the SS United States was THE premier way to travel to Europe and back. Anyone watching that movie today will likely miss that detail, but yet it's part of Americana like many smaller items at the Smithsonian in D.C. It's a national treasure which should be preserved in some way.

Have them scrape rust and paint if they want more than bread and water for their return trip.

It's not a problem, its an asset. The Bidet Regime is letting it go to scrap or a reef. The ship becomes a symbol of the Regime's failure to preserve American greatness.

Then you contribute to it. Trump has tremendous problems to address and you seem to think he can do it all. He has priorities.

The Queen Mary has been a financial disaster for the City of Long Beach. They’ve gone through several management companies, all without success. If Long Beach didn’t stick its reputation on the QM in the 1960s and 1970s the ship would have been sent to the reefs long ago.
So Long Beach saved the R.M.S. Queen Mary, but Philadelphia can't save the S.S. United States? The City of Philadelphia wastes money on many things. It's comes with big government. Surely if the City doesn't buy the ship to keep it in its port, it could give the ship the abandoned "Chicken Pier", which is better than having it be a homeless camp. Sad.

“So Long Beach saved the R.M.S. Queen Mary,...”
In retrospect, I bet Long Beach wished they never purchased in QM back in 1966. It has been a big financial burden on Long Beach. What’s worse is the QM hasn’t been in dry dock for maintenance in over 50 years which means the ship is very much at risk now.

I'm sure if CA used a small fraction of the money it has spent on welcoming illegal immigrants with taxpayer money, it could cover the cost of preserving the Queen Mary.

My first contribution is to make others aware of the problem, the possible loss of a maritime marvel which remains the fastest ship in the world which was financed 70% by the U.S. government as troop transport ship. The ship is a national treasure. It's loss would mean a loss of U.S. prestige and would symbolize the decline of the U.S.in the world stage. Trump understands that image. He also has a record of building tangilble things. Any president in his second term thinks about how history will remember him. Restoring this ship, whether by public or private money, or some combination thereof, would be a notable accomplishment. Trump likes to think big, and the ship is big.

Trump wants to do for the whole country what you propose for the ship.

The ship is a metaphor for the country. It is the ship of state. It doens't take much to save it for now. Marrying a derelict ocean line with an abandonded pier shouldn't be a hard task. Someone like Trump could buy that abandonded pier. The politicians can't do anything unless they find a way to steer the business to the right people.
