If you weren’t already convinced that presumptive Democratic nominee and current President Joe Biden was simply too senile to lead the United States for another four years, last week’s series of faux pas ought to have done the trick.
From wandering off during the G7 meeting in Europe to head-butting the pontiff, Biden’s slip-ups are proving problematic for his presidential campaign.

I read a theory recently that Biden will dump the Cackler and pick Hillary as veep.

The timing of the debates would suggest that the Biden team are well aware of the timeline issues and may have just intentionally scheduled the first debate after the Drop Joe drop dead date.

They changed their rules in 2022 so they can replace the nominee if they drop out or at incapable of running without any vote once the nominee has been declared.
So they can replace him at will once he is formall nominated…
The problem is, to have someone step in at the last second and win would require a superstar and a superstars superstar at that and the Dems don’t have one.
If the Dems had someone like that on their bench they would have run them in the first place and never run Biden at all.
Those on the right were attacked for pointing out Biden’s clear mental decline before 2020, so they should be forced to stick with him now.
It would be very hard at this point. Any group that didn’t get what they wanted in the pick would claim it wasn’t democratic.

That seems premature. President Trump hasn't even named his running mate yet; what will the states put on those ballots?

It has been my great pleasure to serve the America people for over 50 years.
I wish I could continue to do so for many more years, but the pills my doctors give me are not going to allow me to do so.
Therefore, I must ask you to vote for the Biden/Whitmer ticket in the coming weeks knowing in advance that I will resign shortly after being sworn in. My vice-presidential running mate will serve you well in my stead.
I thank you for choosing me as the Democratic nominee and I will do my part to ensure a better future for you. I need you do your part by voting for me, Whitmer and other Democratic candidates.
I don’t see how they can keep him. My best friend and I were speculating that perhaps after Biden falls on his face at the debate next Thursday they will use that as an excuse for him to bow out. Who knows?
It’s too late to replace his name on the primary ballot. It’s not too late for the Democrats to nominate someone else at their convention.
In my state of Florida ballots are printed up on a laser printer when you go to vote in person.
For those that get a mail-in ballot, ballot printing would be governed by state law and probably done shortly before ballots must be mailed out.
