(Vanity) Are you guys really okay with Bob Good losing? Trump endorsement related
Me

Posted on 06/19/2024 7:01:22 AM PDT by ksm1

I've been on FR since the Bush years, first as a lurker and then more active during Obama and the initial Tea Party movement. Throughout that time, there always has been active and for the most part respectful debate on FR, that sometimes got a bit heated but we all basically wanted the same thing for the country, even if it meant different ways to get there.

With the Trump years, I was skeptical of Trump at first in 2016 since he was an unknown, but then he won me over when he was actually President. You can find my posts from his years in office where I defended him. That said - there was enough left on the table, like a number of bad hires who kept undermining him, that I wanted to see a competitive primary and a candid discussion on both his record and what would be different this time around if he gets the nod.

Well that's when things got weird. We never had that discussion. It just became a yelling match, and if I wanted to do that, I'd just go join those Palestine weirdos on college campuses. No thanks.

Guys, Bob Good had an excellent 100% conservative voting record. Trump primaried him for his one and only crime which was endorsing DeSantis, even though after the primary, Bob Good came to visit Trump during his trial in NYC.

This isn't giving me any confidence that Trump has learned from his mistakes of bad hires and bad endorsements. We should have completely dominated the 2022 midterms but a number of bad endorsements sabotaged us. Dr. Oz? Seriously? Yes Arizona had some shady things with their election, but there were a bunch of other cases where Trump endorsed a weak candidate - OR, he's been backing people who DO win and then vote RINO when it counts. We can't keep saying "we want better people in Congress" and then let things like this slide.

Why I care: the grassroots activist right has always played an important role. I saw during the Bush years on FR that we'd organize campaigns to write letters to Congress to push for our values. Same during the Obama years, which is how we prevented Obama from doing a lot of gun grabbing and so forth. There was minimal of that during the Trump years. It was just "trust the plan". This isn't helpful. Politics was meant to be an active process that citizens participate in. During the Trump years, it seemed to turn into just a spectator sport. That's not how this is supposed to work.

Is this really what we want, no real political power because we actively are pushing RINOs into office to replace conservatives, but at least we "own the libs" with snarky internet remarks? Is this really the best we can do? And look, I know the left is unfairly attacking Trump, but Trump or ANY Republican needs to get pressured from the right as well, so he actually does what we want. I know the left is going to attack Trump, or anyone to the right of Rachel Maddow for that matter, but it's really getting frustrated that any pressure for accountability *from the right* is dismissed or actively trolled.

Bob Good shouldn't have even been in a competitive race. He was as solid as they get. This is getting ridiculous.

Trump is the best flawed individual available, and the only “leader” who, despite his massive ego, seems to actually want to fix our nation’s daunting problems.

Are you serious????

Please cite ONE example of that.

They are out in force today working to help Joe Biden.

Maybe they think 4 more years of Joe will convince people to vote for the Meatball. /sarc

The Freedom Caucus is made up of people genuinely fighting for conservative values, principles, and policies

it's the opinion of many that the conservative movement broke and ran from the battlefield years ago.

No, you did not.

My position is simple: I am for the most conservative candidate available. I am for restoring government limited to teh Constitution. Whatever and whoever moves the ball in that direction has my supoport.

Trump’s RECORD was that he did not; he moved it in the other direction. And that is McGuire also. McGuire is a RINO.

For 40+ years most folks here (including myself) have supported candidates that stabbed us in the back(Bush x2, McStain, Myth...too many to count).

Including Trump.

They melded themselves with the elitists and became RINOs of the Bush type.

Good is on record as stating that Trump should not be considered for 2024 due to the lawfare being waged against him. Good basically endorsed the tactic of lawfare by the other side. Which gives the Democrats the power to remove any Republican candidate they don't like simply by filing trumped up charges against them.

Wow. Got a link?

I was marginally for Good over McGuire, but the above would be a deal-breaker.

I see Trump as a very flawed individual.

Trump is the most investigated politician, yet they've found nothing. Add to that Trump has made the decision to risk incarceration to defeat the global establishment and save the country.

There's no way I would describe Trump as "very" flawed.

>Get lost with this BS okay?

No, I will not. There are plenty of the right who are tired of Trump’s string of bad hires and endorsements. Mine is not a one-off view. What is frustrating is there is no attempt to even *discuss* improvements that Trump could do. It’s just more sycophantic Trump Uber Alles cheerleading like this.

How exactly is Trump going to “save the country” when he is throwing potential allies on the right under the bus?

I am convinced that Trump could endorse Chuck Schumer and half of Free Republic would say he’s secretly bringing Schumer onto his side to fight the deep state or whatever. This is just getting silly. I voted for Trump twice. If you want politics to be a spectator sport and don’t want to actually do anything like participate in the primaries or discussion therein, I’m out. You guys have fun though.

Just so we’re all clear though, the guy Trump endorsed over Bob Good was praising Kamala Harris as our first female VP and how inspiring this was. See for yourself, the link is right here in his own words:

Was all that really worth it for getting a little jab in at DeSantis, who has already lost the presidential primary and since endorsed Trump?

Good opposed Ukraine money. McGuire is endorsed by the ones who want to be all in for Ukraine. Never trust modern military alums, CIA, or FBI. They all fall into line for the war agenda.

The old "got a link" inquiry. Well here you go!

The old "got a link" inquiry just helped you make your important point.

As you said, "Good basically endorsed the tactic of lawfare by the other side. Which gives the Democrats the power to remove any Republican candidate they don't like simply by filing trumped up charges against them."

I'm NOW for McGuire over Good.

Well, like I said (knowingly/unknowingly, willingly/unwillingly) HE (at least) exposed our blind faith in the NEOCON's, those folks who viewed "us" ONLY as THEIR "useful idiots"...in the same way the democrat(elitists) have used black/liberal America...for generations.

Will we (CONSERVATIVES) use that "enlightenment" to NOW act in America's (not NEOCON's) best interest?

That remains to be seen.

But sans some minor action(Tea Party/Jan 6)... I'm not seeing much fight, just a lot of tough rhetoric (talk)...while OUR enemies continue to push (act) forward (at warp speed) in their quest for...supremacy/superiority.

Thanks, usually the “got a link” people are trying to discredit your point. Not in this case however.

Just reading your posts on here is sad.

Pretending you are the only conservative who is an America first patriot is kind of delusional. Realizing you think it was fine for RDS to believe he would step in after the democrats took out Trump, and that somehow RDS is better for America than a Trump second term is delusional. RDS should have come against the lawfare and J6 crap long ago, yet he's done nothing. Zip, zilch, nada in spite of there being more Floridians than anyone being persecuted than any other state. Much like Good.

Time to stop bitching about the past, this is a binary race, you either vote with the deep state or back Trump at this point.

It's pretty clear you are the one with feelings hurt, the pretense and arrogance you are showing is disgusting.
