After a tropical rainstorm brought heavy rainfall to portions of Florida last week, AccuWeather hurricane experts warn that yet another tropical rainstorm is expected to impact the southern U.S. in the coming days.
In addition to the tropical rainstorm, two other areas in the Atlantic Basin are being monitored for tropical development later this week, including one off the Southeast coast. It is possible that one of these areas could strengthen into Alberto, becoming the first named storm of the season.

They have to make a big deal out of weather
What they need to do is figure out an efficient way to capture that water and ship it west.
Bring it on! We need more rain in the Hill Country.
Lake Travis is at 42% capacity.
Lake Buchanan is at 74% capacity.
Medina Lake & Canyon Lake are in much worse shape. I don’t know where they’re at in capacity but it’s much too low.
I doubt we get 2” here but we’ll take it.
Winter Storm Warning in Montana
Medina Lake is almost dry.
Quick, go to Walmart and buy pallets of toilet paper. Start fights in the isles when necessary!
The one off the east coast has less than 40% chance of development. The one off Mexico (its actual likely destination) is at 80%.
It’s June. This is no surprise.
Also define “deluge.” We here in GA can get 3, 6, or even 8 inches of rain from a storm front, AKA thunderstorms associated with the low pressure area and the front. No big deal - it’s weather.
Texas Hill Country lakes are at historic lows .... hope these rains will help fill them up.

I agree. It’s so sad to see how low they are. Lots of folks spend bucks for a lake view and not getting much of one anymore.
FWIW, I’ll be riding out the rain in Rockport.
Good luck, down in Rockport.
I’m hoping this thing dumps a LOT of rain near Kerrville. That usually helps most of the lakes, down stream.
I just checked. It’s at 2.4%.
Unbelievable!
Medina Lake is at about 2.3% capacity.
The Edwards Aquifer Authority just issued Stage 4 water restrictions.
Rockport needs the rain too. Their water table is low and there are restrictions on watering.
