I heard on the radio yesterday driving, heat record broken!! 97! That does not seem right...

I'm in Texas, so when I saw the angst over the expected highs in the 90's, I just laughed.

Oh Noes! Summer!
What cracks me up is the last time they talked about breaking a heat record in Central Texas, the record being broken was set in the early 1900s.

Northern North Dakota here. Currently 51*, rest of week forecast 60’s - 70’s.
I’m good with that.

For most places, review the summer of 1936.

They never say, “Oh my we’re having NORMAL WEATHER “ LOL

The only temperature “records” that will be broken are the “real-feel” bullshit numbers they’ve been pushing down our throats for 2 decades.

Already the forecasts this week are dropping, mostly below official “heat wave” level, in the Northeast.

Summer. Hot.
Imagine that!

Already had a power outage in my neighborhood yesterday. Lasted about 90 minutes. Heat related I’m sure.

it's called summer. I've experienced over 110ยฐ F. in Sacramento and even though the heat is low humidity, over 110ยฐ is extreme unbearable.

I live in Connecticut and this is the best weather ever!
Fireflies came out in my backyard last night. I sat out on the back deck until 10pm.
I played "Bombs Away Dream Babies" - a somewhat obscure 1979 album by John Stewart that features Stevie Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham on a lot of tracks.
