Highs soaring toward the middle 90s will spread from the southern Great Lakes and Ohio Valley into the Northeast during the first half of this week. This heat will persist through the end of the week in many of these same areas.

Widespread daily record highs will be set into Saturday. A few cities that could set new records at times through Saturday include Detroit, Cincinnati, Cleveland, Pittsburgh, Philadelphia, Hartford and Burlington.

Dew points will also increase, meaning it will feel sticky and humid. When the humidity is added to the hotter-than-average temperatures, feels-like temperatures will be even higher. In some areas that means the heat index will rise into the upper 90s or lower 100s.

It’s abso.utely rediculous! Local east coast news stations are playing this up like itstheend. Of the world, and “smashing records” but the turning around and saying that the highest predicted temp will be a few degrees LOWER than the highest on record- the left are so crippled by liberalism that they can’t keep their stories straight.

Here on east coast we have had many many days per 100 with high humidity in the past. Sure it sucks, but it isnot the end of the world, and there are ways to get through the oppressive humidity even without an air conditioner

But I will say that I diedthreetimes today, but some kind soul splashed cold water on me and now im ok again.

Yep, Ice is aweful- power outages mid winter, trees down everywhere, some falling on homes which will need repair midwinter as well, and driving is a nightmare if there is black ice.

Earlier this week we had four days running forecast at 90+. Now we’re down to topping out with one day just barely at 90.

Already had a power outage in my neighborhood yesterday. Lasted about 90 minutes. Heat related I’m sure.

it's called summer. I've experienced over 110° F. in Sacramento and even though the heat is low humidity, over 110° is extreme unbearable.

Yes, but this heat wave effects NYC. The center of the universe. So, it is more important.

I hope they have Blackouts followed by looting.

The real issue is that the stupid people in government have gotten rid of nuclear, natural gas, coal and other power generating facilities. These coal and natural gas power plants could be turned on when power was needed.

As much as the stupid liberals(who failed math and science classes) want they can not make the wind blow or the sun shine. So if the wind turbines are not spinning, the AC can not run.

Still not as bad as in 1896, 1901, 1911 or the 1930s!

It’s been 109 or better at my house west of Tucson every day for at least two weeks now. The high was 115 last week. Of course, that’s according to my cheapo weather station, and I suspect the true highs were a few degrees lower.

But it’s a dry heat. At least until the summer rains get here.

I live in Connecticut and this is the best weather ever!

Fireflies came out in my backyard last night. I sat out on the back deck until 10pm.

I played "Bombs Away Dream Babies" - a somewhat obscure 1979 album by John Stewart that features Stevie Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham on a lot of tracks.
