Do the Plotters of the ‘51 Intel Experts’ Coup Deserve Prison?

People of a certain age will remember the name “Donald Segretti.” Segretti’s mischief included sending embarrassing letters under the names of Nixon’s political rivals. Although his dirty tricks had little or no effect on the election’s outcome, Segretti served four and a half months in prison.

With Segretti’s four and a half months as a baseline, the 51-plus dirty tricksters who conspired successfully to get Joe Biden elected president in 2020 would seem to deserve no less. Confident to a fault about the Democrat control of the media, 51 intel officials signed on to the most flagrant disinformation campaign in anyone’s memory. “I think there needs to be an investigation into every single one of them,” said Rep. Kat Cammack (R-Fla.), and that investigation deserves a special counsel.

Fine do it. I have only one issue with this article. There is no mention of Leon Panetta. Well known congressman. He became Harry Reid-like over this. He can plead ignorance just like the Baker fella mentioned in the article. These people would all go to prison and take one for the team. It's that important to them. Our people should put them to it, including Panetta. Won't happen.

“Do the Plotters of the ‘51 Intel Experts’ Coup Deserve Prison?”

Only if they will not disclose the criteria they used to determine that the Laptop was “Russian Propaganda”.

Let’s see what they have to say, which is likely nothing, so then jail it is.

*With a little prodding from the FBI, Facebook promptly “deamplified” the Post story, dramatically reducing its circulation. On the same day the story broke, the FBI’s Foreign Influence Task Force also leaned on Twitter. The Twitter people needed little persuasion — some 98 percent of their political donations went to Democrats. They were all in for Biden, and Twitter blocked not only the Post story, but also the Post itself.*

They just didn’t run with it. Their right? The Post put it out. The big mistake was the computer guy Mac Issac trusting the FBI. No backup files? If there were ant they’d be out by now unless it an Oct. surprise in the making. We’re not that smart and peoples memories are short.

By the standards applied to republicans the plotters deserve jail.

Bingo! Now on the other hand, Gen Milley presents a less complicated case.

*FBI reached out to Facebook, Twitter, and other social media platforms well before the 2020 election and warned them of a potential Russian pre-election “hack and dump” operation. If done with ill intent, these operatives deserve prison time as well.*

They won’t be able to prove intent. You hire a special council anyway.

If we can’t stand them up against the wall, then, yes, prison will have to do. How about permanent exile to Gitmo?

Yeah, yeah. Conservative feel-good.

Sorry, but that’s just not the way the law will work on this question. Did you think those 51 (17x3) elites would risk being strung up on DC lampposts?

The Smith-Mundt Modernization Act (of 2012, signed by Barry in 2013) allows government officials to propagandize (i.e., lie to) the citizenry.

This will never be brought to a grand jury under the DOJ. Blame your congresscritter.

Maybe a brief prison sentence.

Like Julius and Ethel Rosenberg. They were incarcerated less than 3 years before justice prevailed. Sounds right for traitors.

I’m not reading the letter again but I’m recalling it was speculative in nature and not authoritative-IOW this has the hallmarks of Russian blah, blah, blah not that this is Russian blah, blah,. blah.

If that indeed is the case-I vote NO on criminal charges.

I vote yes for election interference. That’s what it was, plane and simple.

They knowingly lied to swing an election using with power of the office they were given. Plus I’m guessing there’s a lot more to this story - and to why ‘intelligence’ was involved in picking who was allowed to run for what offices.

This crime is the tip of the iceberg.

If Trump is facing jail time for hush money that ‘might have swayed the election’ then 100% yes
