Only to have to then deal with Robert Parrish.

You've a great memory. That was the golden age of basketball.

“You’ve a great memory. That was the golden age of basketball.”

I remember some dude (forward) did a cheap shot on Bird. On a subsequent play the forward was running upcourt at speed and Parrish clotheslined him.

Referees didn’t see it.

With all due respect...I am guessing I am little younger than you and not quite a senior yet, we are a sports family, avidly watch college bball, the NBA until a few years ago, but have picked up the Celtics for the playoffs. We've been following Caitlin for at least 3 years now. My daughter walked on a D3 college this year and practiced and hung out with her teammates for weeks. Ended up tutoring because so many were in trouble with their grades. She played in the first game which hubby and I watched on tv. The environment was toxic, majority of her teammates were lesbians (at a Christian college) and constantly trying to get her to engage in hooking up or parties...when they found out she didn't drink she became the designated driver. it was AWEFUL. She quit the day after her first game. She is studying to be a trauma surgeon, scored a 97 on her ASFAB but turned down all offers from AF with all their woke crap and vaccines, so no dummy. She is a straight white Christian, so look no further - her coach tried to use her to carry the team and that was also gross (he's been fired since).
BTW, she is always saying women should not vote because they vote so stupidly and emotionally...I disagree, I think you should still have to pass a literacy test(as in days of old), pay taxes, and have an IQ over 100 (is that too high???) And yes, the left want to strip you of your right to vote if is not for murder, illegals or whatever. I am confused about your comment "hold us exclusively responsible for all the ills of the world." The left holds white men responsible for this. When were women blamed for this? AND it is projection at its best, the left is responsible for most of the ills of the world!

You’re kidding, right?

When they did that to Larry Bird, they had to deal with Larry Bird…and he always made them pay.

The WNBA is effectively a subsidiary of the NBA.

It has lost roughly $320,000,000 in 27years which is slightly more than petty cash to the NBA.

The NBA does not fill every arena.

Companies routinely have loss leaders.

Toshiba lost money on every laptop that they ever manufactured over 30yrs and are still in business.

The NBA set up a trust fund with the WNBA as the beneficiary insuring it’s survival into infinity.

and are typically false like the rest of the Marxist idiocy.

Oh, missed that as your criteria, TOTALLY AGREE. It’s a flippin game. Just disagreeing about your analysis of the foul ;)

With all due respect.

Your daughter’s experience was unfortunate.

My niece plays for a Christian college team currently.

Next season will be her senior season.

She has encountered absolutely none of that at all, ever.

Plenty of FReepers incl plenty of women are vehemently opposed to Pres Trump selecting a female VP=meritocracy be damned.

As near as I can tell, it's one mod, who's very part time.

I posted a vanity about seeing DJT drive by my home, very clearly not sourced, and it was not only taken down, but got a FReepmail scolding me for posting a "news article" that didn't exist.

Whomever is doing that is costing JimRob so many donations, well... we can see where we are on the FReepathons.

I've long been a dollar a day guy and have ponied up an extra Hamilton or two each quarter lately. Running people off for innocuous comments isn't good marketing.

I'm insanely loyal, so I'll continue to give, but most folks are smarter/more sober/judicious than I am and will quit if this affront continues.

I know JimRob has some other serious issues to deal with, but the front line management (moderators) aren't helping.

It said this season.

“Back in 2018, current NBA commissioner Adam Silver spoke on the league’s financial outlook. He cited that the WNBA has never once turned a profit. The league loses roughly 10 million dollars a year and lost close to $12 million in 2017.”

I think you may have misunderstood part of erkelly’s post. Read it again. She said that the left may be more attractive to women because the left does not hold women exclusively responsible for the world’s ills, implying that it’s some of the conservative men who do that. I believe she has a point on this. I have seen many posts on this website from conservative men who say women should never have gotten the right to vote because so many of them vote for democrats. It’s attitudes like this that make them look sexist (which they possibly are.) Instead of grumbling about how women vote the wrong way, maybe they should spend some time trying to persuade them why republican ideas are better. But that requires work and patience which may be too much trouble for them.

Larry Bird never needed anyone to stick up for him. But I guess you count yourself as an expert so, no use arguing.

Unlike Bird, Catlin has yet to swing back at someone. That’s what it’s going to take.

The only reason I commented was because it’s been Caitlyn Clark 24 hours a day 7 days a week. I wish I hadn’t now. It was just a throwaway comment.

In Game 3, Laimbeer, known as one of the most hated players in the NBA, took down Bird with a hard foul. Bird responded by throwing the ball at Laimbeer. Referees ejected both players.

Two games later, with the series tied 2-2, Parish finally had enough of Laimbeer’s antics. Just before the end of the first half, Boston’s mild-mannered center took down Laimbeer, who had his back to Parish while doing for a rebound. Two punches later, Laimbeer was on the floor, and play was stopped.

Amazingly, no official called a foul. Parish remained in the game.
