My mother-in-law had an Italian greyhound that didn’t like anybody but her and her boyfriend. Anybody else it would bare his teeth and growl at them.
We lived 400+ miles away and only went to see them on Thanksgiving.
The dog jumped up in my lap and lay down like he’d known me forever. They were flabbergasted................
