Too bad there isn’t further information on how they found him and got the packs off of him.Quite the mystery. Maybe someone will see the story and explain. It must have been humans who removed his gear at some point.

The packs can’t be too tight and must be balanced. I’m sure the donkey would manage to step out of them eventually.

IF HE BUCKED HARD ENOUGH HE COULD HAVE REMOVED HIS GEAR.

Maybe I should get a donkey to keep the bear away!

The donkey will outlive them all. They are hardy beasts with a long-life span

I was thinking the same thing. I don’t know how packs are secured to a donkey, but if it’s anything like a saddle cinch I don’t see how the animal could get out of it.
At the end of the video shown, the owner is talking about planning to track him down and remove the packs, but it stops without telling any more.

Lots of donkeys around here in the Auburn area in the Sierra foothills, but I haven’t seen any elk ... maybe they’re a little further up ...

Donkeys are very protective and useful animals. An asset to any herd.

Love Donkeys. I feel fortunate. Some people drive to work and pass 5 boroughs, I have a 20 mile drive to work and pass 5 burros.
