Commemorations have begun to mark the 80th anniversary of the D-Day Landings in France which changed the course of the Second World War liberating Europe from the Nazi's.

I look all the way through 1945 and I see a megalomaniac’s folly that led an entire nation to 4-5 million deaths (both military and nonmilitary) postwar occupation, partition into East/West (in some ways that will never be healed) and a diminished status for the next 50 years.

What about the post WWII expulsions of the ethic Germans from the areas where they traditionally lived since the Middle Ages? Ain’t never coming back.

The great social welfare state (for the Deutsche Volk only) of the 3rd Reich, that you probably idolize, was not sustainable without the constant military expansion and occupation/enslavement of the Eastern lands.

Why couldn’t Germany stay contained in Germany and build their racial volkisch paradise there?

Why could they stay within the confines of the Reich following the Anschluss and just build their "NS Paradise" for the whole world to see? They were a predatory regime in need of constant expansion and taking new lands and people.

You've fallen into either nihilism or the trap set by cultural Marxists, when they call all their opponents Nazis. We didn't fight for Cultural Marxism in 1944. We fought a Cold War afterward, against the ally of 1939 Nazi Germany, the USSR.
The Nazis were monsters who hated Western Civilization, Christianity, and all non-Aryans. If you had read both of Hitler's Books, you would know that he would likely consider you an untermensch. More importantly, he sought to destroy almost every nation in Europe. And this included the Germanic States, which he wanted to replace with his fantasy Germania. To do so, he murdered 5+ million White non-Jewish Europeans in the Holocaust along with 6 million Jews, and destroyed much of Europe killing millions.
