Like many others in the punditry space, I am a lawyer by background. I practiced law at a major global law firm. I clerked for a judge on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit. I have published multiple pieces of formal legal scholarship on constitutional issues. I regularly lecture at law schools and present to professional lawyer groups across the country on assorted legal topics. I host two shows, one of which is explicitly legal-based—and with a focus, above all, on the unprecedented lawfare tactics sullying the 2024 presidential race.

In other words, I know a thing or two about the law. And I have been doing my part to sound the alarm on Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg's sham prosecution and eventual show trial of former President Donald Trump ever since the George Soros-backed lawman first dropped his ludicrous 34-count indictment over a year ago. There are far too many technical deficiencies in Bragg's "case," to say nothing of the grotesque manner in which the presiding judge comported himself at trial, to recapitulate here.

But for present purposes, the key point is this: None of those details matter. None of them.

I'm surprised Newsweek put this article out. I wasn't expecting it to be exactly right. The right has to do exactly what the left is doing to Trump. Republicans in Texas or other red states can pick from many criminals in the democrat party to prosecute. The difference between them and Trump is they committed real crimes. Biden took dirty money from China plus he molested his daughter over and over. The Clinton's are dirty and Pelosi made millions illegally using insider trading. The republican DA's need to man up and get to work.

A verdict in New York, and possibly another one in Georgia, should and will be ignored by those of us who care about preserving democracy. It is impossible for us to accept that Bragg’s exertions were anything but a continuation of the elite lawfare—bolstered by Big Tech censorship and a savagely partisan media—that targeted Trump for the “crime” of winning an election.

Meanwhile, Bragg’s borough is being drowned by an ongoing crime wave, owing not least to his anti-anti-crime approach.

As a vulgar Persian proverb advises, "Bragg, Wipe your own ass before worrying about others!"
