I’d like to know how the person came across the coins. Out walking doesn’t give us any details...and I did READ the article - believe it or not! Wonder why it wasn’t reported as part of the story/find...

Yes. Seems they would not be laying out in the sun just waiting to be found, or were they? Recent rains?
It may have been plowed up, rain could have cleaned it off to where it stood out, etc.
