Trump’s sham ‘hush money’ case is a trial that has exposed New York’s corrupt justice system
NY Post ^ | 5/25/24 | Michael Goodwin

The Manhattan court docket says it’s the “People of the State of New York v. Donald J. Trump.”

Legally, yes, but in a larger truth, no. As the case nears the finish line, it increasingly feels as if New York itself is on trial.

Only a top-quality case, beyond reproach and political taint, should have been used to bring the first-ever indictment of a former president. Instead, the city and state put on a show trial long on theatrics–porn star testifies about sex! — and short on evidence that any crime was actually committed.

And so the script has flipped, with the trial itself an assault on the notion that justice is blind. No matter what the jury says about Trump, the prosecutors, the judge, the state court system and the political class have been revealed as thoroughly corrupt.

This is the third time New York Democrats distorted the legal system to serve their partisan aim of destroying Trump. One case involved a change in a statute of limitations law that ultimately led to a defamation ruling against him and a ridiculous fine of $92 million.

Another murky case, brought by the overtly-partisan state attorney general, concocted a civil fraud charged aimed at bankrupting him. An amateurish state judge who enjoyed the spotlight far too much nodded yes and declared a fine of $355 million.

These are the rotten fruits of a one-party blue state. The only justice so far is a rough one, with New York Dems inadvertently contributing to Trump’s growing popularity and helping him build his lead over President Biden.

They will convict him, of that I have no doubt whatsoever and it’s going to stun a lot of people. I grew up in NYC and had a lot of experience with NYCs brand of “justice” which is why I always said living in NYC is like living in North Korea but with food. Justice is corrupt as hell as are elections.

Everyone from NYC says the same thing. I believe you. When I found out the “judge” was personally involved in politics outside of his campaigns, that he was a Biden donor, and his daughter was making millions from politics, it became more obvious. Sadly, the “Judge” in my opinion, has broken more NY statutes than Trump (not allowed to be politically active outside of his own campaigns).

Let’s face it, either someone gets in and cleans up the system, or it will absolutely progress on to open conflict on US soil. Trump must absolutely take control if he re-enters office, prosecute these people for federal election interference and sedition. Better to have some people hang publicly soon, rather than have a domestic conflict. Then at least innocent people have a chance, and aren’t trapped in a war zone.

The fact that he could not get a ‘change of venue’ when 85% of the voters there voted against him—tells you all you need to know.

The entire purpose of this show trial is to achieve a guilty verdict... That will happen and the word ‘guilty’ will loudly be yelled in a frenzy by the liberal news media when it comes down.

The Supreme Court will overturn this conviction and damage will be done, but that damage will likely be slight. People who hate Trump will be ecstatic... Those who love Trump will be mad... Those who are indifferent will understand that this was a show trial and like all show trials, they will accept that it is complete nonsense.

I disagree about the effect of a guilty verdict. The Trump voters and anti-Trump voters will obviously not change.

But there will be a segment of independent voters that will not vote for a convicted felon (even if it was a bogus conviction). The MSM, Hollywood and the academic elite will beat that drum relentlessly.

In the swing states, in a close election, that loss will elect Biden.

Exactly. The NY Justice system is corrupt, but the reason is because the people there are "corrupt" also. I've lived in NY and DC, and I've never seen a stronger collective statist/left hive-mind than those two places, even compared to other places I've visited like Beijing or Riyadh.

“Whenever you make a payment, you have to choose how it’s going to be indicated in the General Ledger category, how to put the payment, where to post the payment to so when you print the General Ledger, it summarizes the expenses in that account,” McConney testified. “There are a number of accounts you can post it to. We were paying a lawyer, so I said to put it — posted to legal expenses in the General Ledger.”

Dear Rebel:

This is a resignation form. I suggest you sign it.

They already have Potato Head's speech ready, before the
verdict. They must have a crystal ball.

The judge was bought and paid for by democrats via his daughter. I’m sure she’s holding a lot more than 10% for her “Big Guy”....

Correct.

But the tactic will backfire. Trump and his team are ready.

This piece of shit corrupt Colombian native judge who really does not know or abides by the constitution is so evil to the core and is bringing his Columbia communist Marxist shit to our law system! But wait there is more…wait until the illegal invaders such as Chinese and the Muslims start becoming integrating into powerful positions. And it will happen all they need to do is make themselves citizens and they are in! Does Omar ring a bell? That demon Soros knows who they are, and he will be more than happy to fund them to usher them into powerful positions especially in the judicial branch. I’m telling you the American folk won’t know what hit them!
