I’ve been here 8 years. I think people who rub our noses in the fact that they’ve been here for “x amount of years”, meaning,I suppose, more than many others, are hubristic and self important. What difference does it make how many years anyone has been here? Does that make you better than others or more important? Reminds me of elementary school when kids would brag they’re older than others. Big hairy deal; we all have to start somewhere, and not one of us has more rights than another.

There are those here that have more rights here than others. Im not one of them and Ive been here as long as I have because I recognize that.

As to the rest of your point, it used to suggest that someone that has been here a long time most likely isnt a troll. It seems unlikely to the average person, beyond understanding and belief, that government agents would show up on a site like this and signup to cause future problems.

That doesnt mean it isnt true and now when you see names show up out of no where claiming to be the most patriotic and starting fights despite not having really posted anything for 20+ years you know why some react the way they do. Yes, we really have our own KGB and have for a long time.

If youve watched some of the strange behaviors of some IDs over the years as I have it would make a lot of sense to you too.

Yes, yes it does.   Someone who has been around for 27 years versus someone who has been here only 6 years has a much better understanding of how this forum works.   We know the inside stories, shared jokes, purges, tolerable and intolerable offences and the hoaxes we've seen.   Most importantly we know we exist here in Jim Robinson's living room by his behest.   It's his forum and his format.   Deal with it.

Well, after 25+ years, it means I can laugh when (not if) someone calls me either a “newbie” or a “troll”....never been a “ghost” before, so there is that possibility.
