I seldom get truly spooked by thunderstorms anymore, but this one was very eerie both visually and aurally... almost malignant.
Glad your OK.
“Weather forecasting and sports commentator predictions...... both great gigs if you can get one.....they can be (and often are) wrong and no one remembers.”
Cannot comment on sports, but for weather, if you don’t feel like doing any work, just regurgitate what the National Weather Service is forecasting - so yes, great gig.
I didn’t cry at all on viewing the video. Call me heartless!
The much vaunted “renewable energy” from wind turbines and solar farms are very vulnerable to weather damage. A Texas solar farm was recently wiped out by a hail storm and wind turbines cannot withstand tornado winds or even strong gales. Off shore wind turbines could be wiped out by even a glancing blow by hurricanes or winter storms. Wind turbines also fail due to freeze ups in cold weather.. Of course these green energy sources are worthless when the wind doesn’t blow or the sun doesn’t shine.
I’ve never seen such a storm rip up a pipeline or topple a major power plant or even a nuclear power plant. But we are supposed to get used to relying on “wind power”.
What is the purpose of “wind power”? More business for China which has 60-66% of the world market.
That would add to the global warming crisis, no? Just a guess.

It was spooky, a wicked storm.
The death toll in Greenfield appears to be bad, total number will be released today.
43 seconds was all it took to do the damage it did.
I have damage in the DSM metro , for a few seconds I thought a tornado was overhead as I saw debris swirling and lifting .
The National Weather Service did a really good job predicting and tracking it.
