Until they aren't.
You’d be surprised. A lot of golfers drive themselves to the events. When they fly in, they’re given courtesy cars (depending on who they are) and drive themselves to and from the tournaments.
"Judge" Merchan is displaying the same evil mindset.
Every cop hating comment here is discouraging
Why is Scottie Sheffler such an above the law person? Disgusting I don’t expect to find elitism here but I am mistaken
Why is the cop obligated to give a crap who he is. The cop was securing a crime scene Shuffler ignored the cops and drive up on the median
No. It wasn’t a detective directing traffic
There was a friking fatality.
Get informed
You want all cops to be bad just because they’re cops? That’s ignorant
I had a hard time deciding if golf was a ‘sport’ topic or not..............
Control freaks can do that but driving on a median in the middle of a crime scene shows he should have a drummer and let him drive. Glass divider
If im his wife I am talking about this
Doesn’t it boil down to whether Scheffler knew that a cop wanted him to stop?
Will it boil down to who Scheffler’s word against the cop’s?
Every arrogant, swaggering, overbearing tinplated dictator with delusions of godhood ... and a taxpayer funded badge, blue costume, and sidearm ... is discouraging.
Why is Scottie Sheffler such an above the law person?
The unlawful "lawman" is a public servant. We're ALL above him.
You want all cops to be bad just because they’re cops?
Speaking for myself only, I'm sick of bad cops. The police officer community is composed of bad cops and people who tolerate bad cops. That needs to end. If the police won't police themselves, they'll BE POLICED ... and they won't like it.
The LEOs in the only released video were wearing bright yellow vests / short raincoats over their uniforms. From the only released video you cannot tell if it clearly states that he is a policeman.
It was dark in Louisville at 6 a.m. in early May only because Louisville is in the Eastern time zone. Parts of central Kentucky due south of Louisville are in the Central time zone where by 6 a.m. it is light outside. Of course when it is 6 a.m. there it is 7 a.m. in Louisville.
It was a dark and stormy night..............
There are witnesses......................
Why do you keep posting that the police were “securing a crime scene”? There was a traffic fatality, but not at the location where the Scheffler incident happened. The investigation did lead to a traffic snarl but was farther from the club entrance.
When will the reporter be asked what he meant by “attached himself to the car”? Reading the above article, information from other witnesses leads to the possibility that the policeman in question tripped and fell.
“ So was this officer out of uniform or maybe doing a rent-a-cop job, off duty ?”
Oh geeze. Read the story
There were hundreds of people heading to the golf course with their four year old tickets 5-6 AM pouring rain, dark Valhalla golf course. There was a fatality of a vendor involving one of the busses transporting spectators
Cops were there including homicide detectives
It was a crime scene. We’re not yet a their world country blowing off some guy running a vending cart in favor of the elite tournament
Sheffler driving himself to a $20,000,000.00 purse event where he’s the star is not a star outside the venue in the rainy dark crime scene. The dead guy is. And the cops are preserving I’m his death scene in order to find out for the community and the dead guy’s family what happened.
Sheffler barrels through, off road, on the median, confused cop thinks sheffler will follow his directions since he’s not aware that sheffler is more important than the victim and all the other people around clamoring to get in to the general admission event. He grabs Sheffield car and gets pulled to the ground.
All Sheffield had to do was remember he is not the most important person outside the gate and stop. Sue the cops afterward for whatever infraction they perpetrated on him not recognizing him as king
He can sue the mayor for not stepping in and helping the cops figure out how to make a path. They should make the venue accessible in cases of emergency
I don’t see where it says that this occurred in the middle of the fatality (poss. crime?) scene investigation. Sounds like this was on a side road leading to a different gate, where the players, staff and media, etc. were being redirected.
Not all cops are bad, but this really sounds like a “respect MY authority” situation, with misunderstanding and confusion all around. And now the cop probably sees a big payoff in his future cause his pants got tore up & Scottie/PGA/Valhalla Club have deep pockets. Bet he’ll have a “back injury” soon too.
“ Why do you keep posting that the police were “securing a crime scene”?
Why did she flee drive on the median knocking a cop over, the cop trying to get him to stop?
Why didn’t she’d let stop?
He's a top player on the tour and typically all the tournaments provide them with a courtesy vehicle, not a chaufeur. In his case, a Lexus SUV, since Lexus is in partnership with the PGA tour.
Tiger Woods was driving such a courtesy car when he had his accident.
Golf is boring? Why what makes you say...that...zzzzzzzzz.....
Ya. I know.
I guess I think like a wife. The wife of a fighter pilot. I’m thinking geeze if we have multi millions, hire a driver
