Ann Coulter: Long COVID 'Total B.S.' Made Up by 'Neurotic Liberal Women (She is SO WRONG!)
PJ Media ^ | 5/20/2024 | PAULA BOLYARD

Ann Coulter has always been a bomb-thrower. She traffics in saying outrageous things and then sits back and watches the fallout. Whether she believes half the stuff she says is anyone's guess. On a recent episode of her "Unsafe" podcast with Scott Adams, she compared long-haul COVID to UFOs and blamed New York liberals for making it up.

Long Covid... It’s right up there with Lyme disease and Fibromyalgia.... Phony diseases created to appease the minds of those who are afflicted with the neurosis of hypochondria.

Their appeasement is likely better than them being rejected by Doctor after Doctor after Doctor telling them that they’re full of it... Until they find that one Doctor who is more than happy to take their money, and not feel regretful because his or her acknowledgement of a fictional disease is in a sick sense, actually easing their neurotic minds and making them better because of it.

Ann is right on this one. "Long Covid" sounds like it was invented for professional malingerers.

Smell PT.

Smell Retraining Therapy

https://www.enthealth.org/be_ent_smart/smell-retraining-therapy/

I also have a theory that since zinc plays a role in the sense of smell, and zinc is also an anti-viral if it gets depleted in the body because of an illness, the loss of the sense of smell might be related to zinc deficiency.

I mostly lost my sense of smell the last time I had a cold and I did the smell PT this site suggests. I also took some zinc supplements. I don’t know if either of those things worked, or I just recovered it on my own, but my sense of smell is back.

When I sniffed the fragrances, I inhaled deeply and caught just a bare whiff of the substance. I then focused on that and remembered what it smelled like when I could smell. I think one of the keys is to really focus on what you can smell, no matter how little

It’s worth a try. Good luck with that.

Long covid is in the same camp as most gluten and peanut allergies.

Seriously??

Swelling, hives, anaphylaxis are all in your head?

I think much is attributed to gluten that isn't. But that can be tested for to verify it.

However, a serious allergic reaction is not a state of mind.

I believe that there is a such thing as long COVID as I have seen people have persistent effects from other respiratory diseases like the flu. But I am starting to suspect that there are a significant number of bogus long COVID suffers that are just claiming to have it to qualify to buy weed at the medical marijuana dispensary.

Hope no one you care about comes down with it.

Claiming to have contracted “covid” is attention-seeking behavior.

COVID-19 and Zinc: A Connection to Sense of Smell

Research suggests that zinc may play a crucial role in the sense of smell, particularly in the context of COVID-19. Studies have found that zinc deficiency may contribute to the loss of smell and taste in COVID-19 patients. Symptoms of anosmia/ageusia reported in COVID-19 may reflect an adaptive response of locally decreased nasopharyngeal zinc (Zn), ultimately resulting in decreased ACE-2, a crucial receptor for Sars-CoV-19 binding.

Zinc is an essential nutrient that plays a vital role in maintaining the sense of smell and taste. Carbonic anhydrase, a zinc-dependent metalloenzyme, is critical to maintain taste and smell function. Additionally, zinc deficiency has been linked to anosmia and taste dysfunction.

Some studies have proposed that zinc may have a potential role in treating taste malfunctions in COVID-19 patients. Further research and randomized control trials are needed to fully understand the relationship between zinc and COVID-19-induced anosmia.

It is essential to note that zinc deficiency is not the only cause of anosmia and taste dysfunction in COVID-19 patients. Other factors, such as oxidative stress, ATP depletion, cytoskeletal changes, and apoptosis of olfactory neuronal cells, may also contribute to these symptoms.

In summary, the available research suggests that zinc may play a crucial role in the sense of smell, particularly in the context of COVID-19. Further studies are needed to fully understand the relationship between zinc and COVID-19-induced anosmia and to explore potential therapeutic applications.

When I first heard of “long covid” I almost laughed. I never heard of long tetanus, long flu, or any other long disease. It simply sounded made-up.

Who is going to fund, and report on, honest science? This is all politics now. Hitler had his science. Stalin had his science. American socialism has it’s science. Bogus studies can be treated as authoritative. Valid science can be treated as “misinformation.”

Are we at the point now that we can say out loud that Covid was the product of gain-of-function research funded by taxpayers like you?

Heck, to say that the Democratic party segregated the races in America probably constitutes a novel claim. How many people know that Uncle Joe murdered tens of millions of people? It takes a long time for the truth to come out. By the time it does come out, no one cares.

humm. coulter is wrong about a lot of things. the interesting thing i find about her writing is that she usually lays out her case in detail and very well, but then somehow draws a wrong conclusion.

so i’m thinking you have persistent symptoms, like i did after the wuflu. i’ll give you my experience.

the unfortunately named ‘long covid’ is real, imho. the name is misleading not descriptive. what i had was after the wuflu were some persistent symptoms like insomnia, new allergies, etc. but with those symptoms i had no viral load. no wuflu at all.

i didn’t panic about it, ivm and antihistamines along with good supplements, exercise and will power, got me past it. took about 3-4 months for my symptoms to lessen or end. i didn’t do anything rash like go on sleeping pills etc. the OTC anti-histamine helped with sleep, but mostly i just got up and got to work, sleep or not. i also took naps. now two years later i’m fine; i don’t even notice any difference.

so, imho, ‘long covid’ has nothing directly to do with the virus which is clear after about 2 weeks in most cases (unless you say do something like go to the ER or your doctor and they don’t have a clue and start venting you, or giving you more poison like genetherapy, paxlovid, mono-clonal anti-bodies or something like that).

i think it has to do with persistent adverse effects from the spike protein and what it does to your whole immune system. that explains why the jab also gives some people ‘long covid,’ turbo cancer, weird symptoms, too. etc. imo, so the biggest mistake would be to take the jab for ‘long covid.’

If you google up losing sense of smell and colds, you’ll find that it’s not uncommon.

Covid is not by any means the only viral illness that causes some of the symptoms people act like are new with Covid.

Claiming to have contracted “covid” is attention-seeking behavior.

I have to agree.

I know someone who claims to have long Covid and complains about symptoms they display all the time anyways.

I don't see any difference in their lives that would indicate debilitating after effects of a viral illness.

FWIW, I've had colds in the past that easily took two months to recover from. Matter of fact, last winter around Christmas some virus was going around that lasted WEEKS. and everyone who had it, tested for Covid and the tests all came back negative.

My understanding also is that kidney stones are worse than labor, but a man who experiences a kidney stone has an idea of what labor is like.
