They already have that much power. I have multiple cards, including my debit card, that are VISA. The only real difference is consolidating to one to handle them all.

Move all of it to one type of payment card, no more account numbers but a ‘face scan.’
Now you are standing in a crowd exercising your Right...you go to buy a dinner later and you do not have access to any of your accounts! Your payment card has been turned off.
Scenario 2, take a lot of selfies by any chance? Have your card stolen? How are they going to prevent the scan of you off your phone? You know the criminals are already figuring out a way to navigate that issue.
Have a doppelganger in the world? Consider they are not such good people, but it is your identity that is affected by their bad behavior.
Right now if you decide to leave a few ‘cards’ at home you only lose access to cards you have on you. Or you only use a certain card online, again only one account is compromised. All of these accounts on one payment card?
No thank you. Honestly, it is getting more realistic to not use these ‘cards’ and carry cash. I’d rather lose $100 bucks than deal with some of these potential scenarios.
