I believe that when Zimbabwe was Rhodesia, it had one of the strongest economies on the continent.
And South Africa used to have very strong economies.
Hmmmm, I wonder if there could perhaps, just perhaps, be a common cause to what has happened to both?

Barclays of London was the facilitator behind Robert Mugabe’s grip on power for decades. Being able to park their ill-gotten gains far from the reach of their victims is how they maintain power.
