Howard University was forced to cancel a graduation ceremony after furious relatives began banging on doors and smashing windows after the auditorium hit capacity.
The graduation ceremony for the historically black college's College of Nursing and Allied Health Sciences was shut down before the keynote address after space ran out at the Cramton Auditorium in Washington DC.
Relatives of some of the graduates were seen on video chanting 'Let us in' as they pounded on the doors as the ceremony began on Thursday.
Images showed a shattered glass door as the angry relatives tried to push their way past security.
At least one person was hurt in the commotion, according to DC officials. Various reports said the injured person was a student who was treated for a cut.
Dean of the College of Nursing and Allied Health Sciences Gina Brown made announcement claiming the fire department had shut the ceremony down.
'Because of the size of the room and because our relatives sometimes do not know how to act, the fire department is now here to shut us down,' she said.
However, the DC fire department has denied they shut down the graduation.
The department said: 'D.C. Fire and EMS did not shut down tonight’s event... At 6:42 p.m., we responded to the Cramton Auditorium for a medical local at the request of campus police.
'The patient was evaluated and refused transport, and D.C. Fire and EMS departed.'
Howard later said in their own statement that someone was removed from the building before the ceremony and they came back and broke a window.
The school's statement read: 'This incident led to a disturbance among guests outside of the facility, resulting in a disruption of the program.

Wow, how sad for the graduates.
“This incident led to a disturbance among guests outside of the facility, resulting in a disruption of the program”
Disturbance and disruption are certainly two things that they’re really great at
She said, “... unfortunately some of our relatives don’t know how to behave...” Ha ha. I assume she has held many a Christmas get together at her house with her family, so she should know!!
Its a a vicious cycle. This behavior was learned at some point because they weren’t born behaving this way....and now it will be passed on to their children....and on and on.
I won’t post any GIF’s. It’s too, too easy. This has to be some kind of setup or trap.
Another once great college slides down into the Pit.
You need to read the whole article to understand that it wasn’t family members, outside, clamoring to get in. It was Pro-Hamas protesters. The school didn’t want to admit that that they had capitulated to the terrorists. The WA fire Marshall says that he had nothing to do with shutting down the graduation, that they were only there because the school security called paramedics to treat a student, who turned down being transported to the emergency room.
“SOMETIMES DO NOT KNOW HOW TO ACT” ???????
SOMETIMES?????????
This report is from the daily mail.UK. Will it even be mentioned in the USA propaganda press?
It wasn’t family members, clamoring to get in. It was pro-Hamas protesters, protesting Jerry Seinfeld as keynote speaker. The school shut down the ceremony in capitulation to the Pro-Hamas protesters.
Besides, they were late. The parable of the foolish virgins comes to mind.
I think that was at Duke University. Some of the spoiled, clueless graduates walked out when Seinfeld started speaking because he is Jewish.
But the ceremony proceeded.
lol
“You need to read the whole article to understand that it wasn’t family members...”
That is what I though at first then I saw the video. Women with weave and “hair hats” as Tommy Sotomayor calls them. BT-1000 everywhere. It was really their family. They were acting just like Tommy talked about.
Wrong college....................
A moot point if you think about it.....whether it was black family members or hamas protesters it doesnt matter.....they’re both antisemites.
That’s one dude that DOES need to be wearing that mask.
