My son and I are going to Los Angeles tomorrow night. We have tickets to the Petersen Auto Museum on Saturday. We have General Admission, the Vault, and the special Shop Tour. We are really looking forward to visiting one of America's best car museums.
Sat night we are going to the Dodgers / Braves game.
For Sunday we are thinking of Griffith Observatory and maybe the Olvera Market across from Union Station.
We come home Monday night and have nothing planned for Monday.
What do all you SoCal FRiends recommend for Sunday PM and Monday?
We are staying in a friend's house in Redondo Beach a few blocks from the Torrance Beach and next door to Palos Verdes Estates.
Natural History Museum and Aviation Museum at UCLA, Getty or LACMA/Tar Pits.
I have been down in southern Nevada and Utah for past week, flying home from Vegas on Saturday afternoon. Very good weather for several days into Saturday but looks like a strong cold front with gusty winds and showers could hit on Saturday (late afternoon) into Sunday, would be cautious about going very far inland on Sunday. Strong wind gusts are being predicted for eastern CA and southern NV into western AZ (also Utah) for Sunday. It will likely be clearing up by monday. San Diego zoo (monorail) could be an option.
We enjoyed a fabulous visit to various national parks in southern Utah and northern Arizona, and saw some condors flying over Colorado River near Lees Ferry. It has been sunny and around 90F for past few days, only one brief interval of rain a week ago Friday. Love 80 mph limit on interstates. It is like the 1950s with all mod cons down this way. (yes boo-boo, you guessed the reason) ;)
I suspect Eisenhower is still president around here.
Yes, that’s the one and it is worth it, much better than a Dodgers game now,l sad to say.
Very distinctively LA.
Art’s Deli, Ventura Blvd., Studio City.
I was looking for a driving performance / race experience, but couldn’t find anything reasonably priced. Is Superperformance located at a track in LA? You have to call to get dealer locations.
Enjoy your weekend.
Whatever you do, DO NOT GO TO VENICE BEACH!!!
It used to be a nice attraction but now it’s a high crime area and a dump. I was fortunate enough to go there in the late 80s. I hear it wasn’t long after I was there it started going bad. Saw plenty of street performers. One comedian was funny as anything but he overused the “MF” term too often. Saw a guy juggling chainsaws. A couple of weeks later he was on a HBO show. Those days are gone.
Thanks.
I think Hillbank and the Superformance US headquarters are the same place. They do test drives on the city streets around the shop, based on what I’ve seen.
Please let me know how you liked it
Will do! We are headed to the airport in 30 minutes.
