That’s nothing.

Seawater has anywhere from 5 to 25 tons of gold per cubic mile, the problem being extracting it costs orders of magnitude more than it is worth.

I once prospected a creek in central Idaho where I recovered two ounces of fine gold in three hours and I was able to drive to within 1/4 mile of the spot. The temperature was +65* which is a bit warmer than Antarctica.
