I know it's a longshot but you can get up to $15 at 850/1 on Rand Paul to the be VP nominee on Betfair Betting exchange.
If it came off that's a return north of $12k.
I might have a little go...
In terms of shorter and more realistic odds here's the list: -
Tim Scott: 5.2 (Shortest by a long way)
Tulsi Gabbard: 9.0
Elise Stefanik: 11.5
JD Vance: 13.5
Dr. Carson, from my understanding, is a brilliant doctor and a fine person, but he does not project strength or confidence as seen during speeches or interviews.
I can’t see him outdebating very many of the known Dems.
This should not be the basis for choosing a VP, but it mostly is.
“That’s a positive trait in my book. Also, whoever is picked to be VP must be more widely reviled than DJT.”
No one person will ever be more widely reviled in American history than DJT. Certainly not Rand Paul nor anyone taking deep state money as he does
I don’t think you’re paying attention.
No one is as serious as Trump. His vp will come out of nowhere at the last possible minute
I have gained so much respect for this senator year after year. I would be happy if he was chosen.
But then I have to challenge myself, if he is so good wouldn’t he more effective in the senate. And can we really afford to lose him in the senate. And would he really make a difference in an election, probably no VP really does. In reality is VP is a very powerless position, until the president leaves office.
In any case it is up to Trump, I’m sure there will be complaints no matter who is chosen.
Based on the number of road side signs that exist, my guess is Pence.
Didn’t Carson rip up Obama at the prayer breakfast in front of Obamas face while berry was still President? That took guts. He would make a great President I think.
Given Trump’s age, remember his VP must be desirable as a possible President as well as anything else.
Besides loyalty, the VP pick has to bring tangible items the prez candidate doesn’t already have:
<><>some new voting constituencies
<><>fund-raising potential
<><>swing state advantage
An element of surprise is also an advantage to re-position the prez candidate favorably.
Wasn’t Obama a freshman senator with a funny name?
Paul is Deep State.
Yes he was.. good point... I like Vance but it’s rare ...
No one will be picked from the Senate. I still figure Tulsi Gabbard, a moderate like Trump, a woman, a minority, a veteran, and as she is a bit party-homeless, might help with independents. She’d also be one-and-done as she is not a Republican, leaving an open path for DeSantis in 2028.
Doctors don’t “follow orders”?
It sure seemed like they followed orders just fine during the china pandemic.
Que sera - que sera....
Trump recently had a two hour sit down with DeSantis......go figure.
You’ve got that right. They follow orders from the AMA. Pro abortion btw
De Santis is.......
The only 2 purposes of a VP are:
1.) Effectively and unashamedly communicate the policies of the President
2.) Act as an insurance policy against the Deepstate takeout of the President
It needs to be Ken Paxton, Gen Flynn, Tucker or maybe JD Vance
Anyone else is a trap.
Rand Paul is my first choice for VP.
