Trump VP contender Kristi Noem writes of killing dog – and goat – in new book
The Guardian ^ | April 26, 2024 | Betsy Reed

....In 2024 Kristi Noem, a strong contender to be named running mate to Donald Trump, the presumptive Republican nominee, has managed to go one further – by admitting killing a dog of her own.

“Cricket was a wirehair pointer, about 14 months old,” the South Dakota governor writes in a new book, adding that the dog, a female, had an “aggressive personality” and needed to be trained to be used for hunting pheasant....By taking Cricket on a pheasant hunt with older dogs, Noem says, she hoped to calm the young dog down and begin to teach her how to behave. Unfortunately, Cricket ruined the hunt, going “out of her mind with excitement, chasing all those birds and having the time of her life”.

Noem describes calling Cricket, then using an electronic collar to attempt to bring her under control. Nothing worked. Then, on the way home after the hunt, as Noem stopped to talk to a local family, Cricket escaped Noem’s truck and attacked the family’s chickens, “grabb[ing] one chicken at a time, crunching it to death with one bite, then dropping it to attack another”.

Cricket the untrainable dog, Noem writes, behaved like “a trained assassin”.

When Noem finally grabbed Cricket, she says, the dog “whipped around to bite me”. Then, as the chickens’ owner wept, Noem repeatedly apologised, wrote the shocked family a check “for the price they asked, and helped them dispose of the carcasses littering the scene of the crime”.

Through it all, Noem says, Cricket was “the picture of pure joy”.

“I hated that dog,” Noem writes, adding that Cricket had proved herself “untrainable”, “dangerous to anyone she came in contact with” and “less than worthless … as a hunting dog”.

“At that moment,” Noem says, “I realised I had to put her down.”

[[This leads them to undervalue Man and overvalue Beast]]

It stems from Satanic influence (not that they are outright Satanists or anything, just that they are influenced by the Evil One who reject’s God’s authority and mankind’s authority) as God gave man dominion over the animals, but today’s furbies or whatever they wanna be called ignore God’s order, and elevate animals above mankind

Noem’s words are Noem’s, not the Guardian’s.

[[Noem doesn’t come even close to the number of deaths that Biden and democrats have done.]]

Exactly- she should add to the book “But I didn’t go along with the massacre that the elites foisted upon the nation by insisting on vaccines that didn’t work because big pharma ordered us to, and masks which made people sick, nor did i send covid sick into nursing homes knowing full well that the elderly were going to catch covid and die, for which the government gave $5,000 or whatever it was per covid death!, nor did i ban ivermectin and other experimental off label drugs that likely have saved many 1000’s of lives-

No- we just did what needed to be done with rogue animals, and sick animals in the least painful way possible-

I had a similar unfortunate choice. For many years I had 3 100 lb dogs. Outside they were friends. That changed when my wife was in the bedroom. A territorial protection racket was in place. One dog wasn't allowed in the bedroom. One was fairly neutral in the bedroom. The 3rd was the nemesis. For many years we dealt with the fighting by closing the bedroom door to exclude the "prohibited" dog. The "prohibited dog" loved me and was always sweet with the youngest pups. One evening it came to blows. The door didn't get shut quickly enough and a bloody brawl started. I had to pull the "neutral" dog off as she was attacking the "prohibited dog" My wife took charge of the "prohibited dog" and I went about separating the combatants whose jaws were locked on each other's faces. I pried them apart, but it was just the last straw. I had bites and bruised ribs. I went ass over teakettle as I separated the combatants. The next day we took the "prohibited dog" down and had her euthanized. It was a horrible decision, but the ongoing situation was just plain dangerous every single night. The "nemesis" remains and I have a "tolerable" relationship with her. In retrospect, she would have been a better choice to remove. Too late. I still feel terrible about having to make the decision to remove a beloved pet from my home.

Or blue blood hunters who leave that sort of dirty work to their Kennel Master.

Goat tastes fine, but not so much if it is a musky unalltered male. He might make good kibbles fir Cricket’s kin.

I pray she is not part of POTUS Trump’s team.

Because she put down a rogue animal? Should she have called the Dog Whisperer?

Putting a dog down, to spare people and animals, is not as uncommon as some may like to think.

A friend’s father owned a very large mutt - bigger than a wolf.

One day, when the family was eating dinner, watching TV, and someone glanced outside thru the slidig glass doors, there was “the family dog,” on the deck, with a human baby’s head in its mouth.

Remainder of the baby, still attached, thankfully.

The short of the rest of the story:

The baby lived.

The dog was put down.

The judge assigned all costs to my friend’s father, including:

Friend’s father had to buy the home and property of the baby’s family, plus pay for the moving of the baby’s family, plus additional penalties.

The dog was just plain bad news. It could separate its all-chain link “leash” and then wander.

It could swim quickly.

One day, I was swimming offshore about 250 ft. The dog spotted me, busted loose, dived in, and began swimming toward my like a fully-fired-up steamboat.

I headed for deep water and had an advantage of snorkel and scuba fins.

If you pull out a chicken from a dog’s mouth, you might get accidentally nipped. It does not appear that this dog bit other people, and just went after chickens. I think my two labs would do the same. I have been scraped by my dog’s teeth by accident pulling a towel out of her mouth. Noem is not living in the 1800s in which transportation is horse and buggy with no dog rescue. There was no reason she needed to shoot a puppy when she has a car, and animal rescue shelters in her state. She took the lazy way out. What she should have done was find a rescue that could train this dog ( 14 months old is still a crazy puppy) and re home it to a family who does not have temptations like chickens. The rescue could have determined if this dog was salvageable. Noem ruined any chance of being VP or a cabinet member. That shows me she is stupid.

Nothing wrong with putting down a bad dog.

However, it is a much more sad event than putting down a whole truckload of nasty commie Democrats.

I was raised in NE Montana in the 1960’s. My Father was a bird hunter, and trained dogs for extra income.
I saw him shoot 2 dogs on different occasions.
He told me dogs were no different than people. Some don’t have good minds.
He would not pawn them off on anyone, and we could not afford to keep pets.

You will not learn from history and common sense will you?

You read a story with an agenda that you believe because it fits your profile.

The article works. You believe every word in the article.

How does it feel to be manipulated?

The article quoted what she wrote in her book. Putting that down in her book was the ultimate of stupid, and we already have enough stupid politicians running this country. We don’t need another.

Have you ever had to personally put down a dog or an animal?

If you did you understand what was done and why. You have a very superficial view of life.

I went to a vet and had my dog humanely euthanized because she was 12 and ill. And let’s not forget that Noem did not sign into law a bill that prevented trans from participating in women’s sports. It took months before a law was enacted because she refused to sign on the first edition of the law. Noem is now toast politically. What a stupid woman.

My dog killed a baby rabbit. If you take on the responsibility of owning a dog, train them well. If your dog cannot live around chickens, etc., take them to the humane society for adoption. The fact that she admitted that she killed a dog shows me that she is not intelligent at all, and should not be VP.

What a sheltered life you have led.

Have you ever seen a large pack of wild dogs of every type and breed charging down a hill in a pasture five hundred yards away?   It is quite a chilling thing to see.   You wouldn't anthropomorphize lesser creatures so much if you had seen that.

Kristi Noem's dog needed to be put down in spite of your sensitive feelings.

This was not a pack of wild dogs, it was an excited puppy doing its thing. My lab would do the same. . She just lost out on any future political career. Which shows me she is very stupid. Just her admitting that in her book shows us that she has no common sense.
