Israel is also in the process of becoming vastly politically and religiously conservative, with the conservative religious out-producing babies over the leftist secularists by at least 2 to 1.
Conservative Netanyahu has been Prime Minister more often than not in the moden era.
While I agree they have historically been welfarist, I would argue that Israel is neither currently secularist, nor destined to remain welfarist.
