The language used by academics is awful stuff.
I think it all derives from Hegel who influenced Marx. Everyone on the Left always wants to discuss the reification of the hegemonic patriarchal and semiotically-derived holistic confluence of socially dependent and independent manifestations of anthropological deconstructions.
They have no idea what they’re trying to say.
The only term I ever learned from this stuff that seemed somewhat useful was ‘reify’. But I’m still waiting for a chance to use it...
They have no idea what they’re trying to say.
I was thinking the same thing a couple of minutes ago. They string together a lot of long, smart sounding words and have no idea what they mean.
They’re either trying to hide what they are saying or have nothing to say.
And hide both in gobelygook.
A article they says “I am jealous of ScarJo because she is so hot and good at her job, so I’ll claim she’s a movie star because she’s white because picking on white is always a safe bet” doesn’t quite fill the page.
I think it's something like "I'm not smart enough to handle the hard sciences, so I'll write things that look as impenetrable to me as the papers in Physical Review or Science."
