On May 14, 1944, an A-20 havoc (serial number 42-86768), with a crew of three and one passenger, departed Momote Airfield, Los Negros Island, for a courier flight to Nadzab Airfield, New Guinea. For unknown reasons, this plane was forced to ditch in the ocean off the north coast of New Guinea. Both engines failed at low altitude, and the aircraft's nose hit the water hard. Three men failed to emerge from the sinking wreck and were lost in the crash. One crew member survived and was rescued by a passing barge. An aerial search the next day found no trace of the missing aircraft or the lost crew members.
Second Lieutenant Ambrose J. Finnegan entered the U.S. Army Air Forces from Pennsylvania and served in Headquarters, Fifth Air Force. He was the passenger on this Havoc when it was lost. He has not been associated with any remains recovered from the area after the war and is still unaccounted-for. Today, Second Lieutenant Finnegan is memorialized on the Walls of the Missing at the Manila American Cemetery in the Philippines.

In any case, they missed having Finnegan’s Wake.
I doubt the regime has any reason for saying this. It’s either something Biden came up with off the top of his scrambled head, or it’s something he told his speechwriters that they didn’t verify. Probably the first.
Bosie Finnegan was an honorable young man who died in the service of this country. It’s actually very sad that his idiot nephew has turned him into the punchline of jokes
My mistake. I assumed Finnegan was the pilot, because there were only 3 men on the plane, and I didn’t think there would be more than one officer.
Kind of a freak accident for the plane to crash without enemy fire, not in takeoff or landing, and not crossing the Himalayas or something.
Anyway, Biden’s uncle did disappear near cannibals, so some basis in truth to the story.
There were four men on the plane.
Passenger
I think Biden put some of George Bush’s narrative of the mission he and other pilots had over Chichi Jima. Bush was the only pilot to survive the mission 8 others were captured by the Japan’s after being shot down. All of them save Bush were captured, tortured, executed and eaten by the Japanese. If I recall corrected the commander of Japanese forces was executed for war crimes that included that incident.
Bush was the the pilot of a 3-man plane. It usually had 2 enlisted men, but there was an officer on board taking the place of an enlisted, a high class acquaintance of Bush, who just wanted to go for the ride. Bush survived, and his 2 crew members did not, which doesn’t look that great. The story about the other pilots being captured, executed, and eaten also sounds a little far fetched.
Google Newsweek George Bush narrowly escapes... The story is true even part about other pilots.
Evidence from war crimes trial. sorry I forgot how to do links
Details from Flyboys by James Bradley, son of one of Iwo Jima flag raiser.

2 pilots = 2 officers...
Tastes like chicken according to Joe.
he was listed as a 2ndlt courier on the flight manifest, pilot lt. Price
“For all we know Finnegan might have been the mess officer.”
Hitching a ride to get flight time?
“Bush survived, and his 2 crew members did not, which doesnโt look that great.”
The Democrats tried to smear him with this, insinuating he ditched them and left them behind.
