In a letter, dated 1/30/2018 just published on Truth Social signed by Stormy Daniels states, in part, the following:
"I am not denying this affair (with Trump) because I was paid hush money. I am denying this affair because it never happened".
Isn’t this case about campaign finance violations?
I did hear the disclaimer.
This report was the morning after the tape was released to CNN, not to CBS, so therefore the disclaimer.
There are apparently dozens of tapes.
Trial starts next week and we will know more then.
this has been around a long time...why does it just now pop up ?
shouldn’t my attorneys have known about this ?
Below the surface, it's the same thing that happened with John Edwards and his lover Reille Hunter. In Edwards' case, there was also a baby and a wife who was dying of cancer.
The complication is that a North Carolina jury acquitted Edwards of campaign finance violations, which is why federal authorities declined to charge Trump for the same thing.
The second complication is that Bragg doesn't have jurisdiction to charge campaign finance violations in federal elections. That's why he's trying to link this to a state crime of falsifying documents to further a crime, despite Trump not being charged with the crime Bragg is using to underpin his own case.

So you're speculating?
-PJ
Sigh, no. Reports from the FBI search and what was recovered.
I don't think we can trust the CNN/CBS audio because it can be about anything.
You said "apparently" there are dozens more, but "apparently" is speculating.
Your original quote was "Trump is on tape discussing the entire thing before any payment is made." We now know the recording was vague and incomplete, at least on anything that was made public.
Now you say there are "reports from the FBI search." I did a quick search and didn't find reports of audio recordings, only reports of vague testimony by Cohen. So I'm asking you if you can point me to better information, since the audio clip didn't say what you said it did.
-PJ
I’m not going to do any of that. Your inability to find information relevant to the case isn’t my problem and I’m not a court of law.
Speculating that Cohen was the one who had the affair and somehow got Trump to pay for it is fantasy. Did Cohen also sleep with McDougal?
Cohen already was sentenced to prison for this very same incident.
I’m not here to make the case for or against Trump.
Just pointing out the inconsistencies in his defender’s arguments with the evidence already in the public.
The game of providing links to evidence, news stories, testimony, facts etc only to have it dismissed out of hand and being insulted for doing so has been old for a long time now.
It's not my inability, it's you ability to back up your claims instead of hurling accusations and forcing others to refute them.
-PJ
Wow.
Of course they do.
They want something to pin on Trump to bring him down so bad that they’ll do any amount of lying to accomplish it.
The letter is evidence that must be proven false by the plaintiff
Pay off a blackmail?
your right...New York state via Trump, has already just made taking a loan illegal ..if they decide it is after the fact
You don’t pay them to come, you pay them to go away.
Daniel’s has addressed this years ago in interviews and a book. She said she was pressured into it by Cohen.
She and Cohen are scheduled to testify.
Pay off a blackmail?
I would assume it was for not claiming she did.
People will lie if there is money in it, and by claiming she had an affair with Trump, she could have made money by lying about it.
Trump didn't need the aggravation and potential loss this might cause, so his people may have thought it was cheaper to just pay her to go away.
Could not agree more!
That’s the conclusion I have come to.
