McDermid for NJ is a tough guy, but he’s not a goon with only one purpose, like Rempe. McDermid isn’t in the lineup to try to injure the Rangers’ Panarin or Kreider

The thing about Schultz, was he could play AND fight.
A big reason they won the cup in 1974 was an OT win in Boston in the finals. During OT Schultz was basically riding the bench. A Bruins fan yelled to the Flyers’ coach Fred Shero “put in Schultz!” The fan, basically, wanted Schultz to get the Flyers into a short handed situation.
