Remember when all Tesla drivers acted like smug aholes and told you they were saving the planet? More and more places are asking them to park well away from sane people

...

Not only will I not knowingly park next to one, I won’t even stop next one at a traffic light!

“ MPG for self-charging EVs is better in the city than on the highway.”

Wind resistance at high speeds is the culprit.

Perpetual motion fantasy. If you think this is a solution God help you.

IOW, Ford will be charging more for gas vehicles to make up the loss.

What will be the per mile charge to replace the gas tax?

Not interested in buying any other car at this age. I know you like to drive while I’m not a big fan of it. You’re on home ground while I’m not, even tho’ it’s been home for 18 years now I’m ok once I get over the anxiety of going by myself but you know I’m not going very far - LOL. You have and good for you. Have a good evening...

Every new transportation system in this country has been heavily molded by subsidies and laws designed to encourage it.

The trouble is, if the development of early transportation systems were subsidized, it was done to benefit the people of the country. The difference now is our tax dollars are being used to subsidize our enslavement.

And once they stop ICE vehicles, they’ll suddenly discover that EVs require the strip mining of the earth. Then they’ll push just to ban all vehicles or limit private ownership to the elite and force the rest of us to use public transportation. This is all part of the plan to drive people back into easily controllable urban locations, limit freedom of travel, and eventually depopulation. If anyone buys an EV, they are helping their cause. Hence my assertion that you cannot really be a conservative and own one.

Hybrid cars are like the Toyota Prius. They all have normal engines, but they have regenerative brakes and some battery capability to run from, but they ultimately rely on the engine.

An enhanced form of hybrids have an even bigger battery and allow maybe 10-20 miles of travel on just the batteries, but still has an engine. These can be plugged into your home electricity to charge.

Also, you are not “just a decaying old widow lady!” You are as important to God as anyone else in this country or world. We all matter and can glorify Him with who we are, every day.

You are loved, you know?

My brother is thinking about buying a hybrid Tundra. He asked me my thoughts and I said if you’re hell bent on this route get the hybrid instead of the EV, at least you can have a gas engine that can be fueled easily. I also suggested he buy the longest warranty they had for the bloody thing as they are expensive to repair.

A friend of my wife has an EV F150 and a hybrid F150 and they have had nothing but trouble out of both of them. They despise the things are are about to file a lemon law suit on one of them as both were bought brand new. They have liberal daughters that demanded they go electric and did so. They are now telling liberal daughters no more EV crap, will choose our own vehicles.

Sales personnel are doing their jobs. They are ensnaring FORD owners one last time; how much discount can you give on a 150k FORD Electric Truck? Had these people even considered an electric vehicle prior to walking on the lot, they might have bought a Tesla.

You can get a new Tesla S for 44k before tax deductions, and the charger is about $450 if you install it yourself. A used top tier Tesla with a new battery goes for the same as fully loaded base model. Under 40K. In Raleigh, NC you can get them in the 20’s.

Elon is a mythical creature. After MANDELA destroyed S. Africa and Marxist overrun everything from Rhodesia southward, he comes to Amerika. Here he finds favor with the USG investing in critical defense market big ticket items; as a favor for Space X he is forced to build Tesla’s. As a favor the USG sell’s Twitter (a national security platform ran out of Langley under the auspices of the NSA. After he purchased what is now X, Biden seeks to destroy his Government Welfare Program, but finds out that Woke NASA doesn’t really hire Dream Girls and nobody can put anything into space or orbit. Simply put, Elon Musk owns the patents on nearly 5,000 satellites and all the lift capacity in the USA. He is at the forefront of the Electronic Platform Industry (Auto’s) and the Democratic donor class could not kill Tesla; they can’t touch Space X, and the X-Files are a suttle warning to all Americans that the USG, FBI, CIA-DNC nexus is coming for your freedoms.

Without the USG Elon doesn’t really have much business. Like Facebook and the CIA, the government issues stocks and spins off some features people will use, but the bottom line is that innovation is in the hands of the NSA if information is involved, and the 17 1/2 spy agencies (Count the DNC as a half) vie for the rights to manage the program or contract.

Examples of this are Amazon Web Services - mostly a government storage and cloud program replacing the DISA Cloud, or Microsoft or Cisco or others trying to break into the Amazon cloud - every major department of government is an Amazon Web Services or sub-company shareholder in the IT arena.

If Elon were simply building widgets for sale at Home Depot or Lowes, he would not be getting those Big Bucks from the USG.

You might say even our Stock Market(s) are under the management of the intelligence agencies - more than a handful of the biggest stocks started in Q’s office and they picked a third generation family member of an agency to be the inventor face in the dorm room or garage;)

What about self-charging EVs? These are the ones that just use regenerative braking to give a boost to MPG. No plug in at all.

That is the only type of EV I would consider. The batteries that support the regenerative braking are small and don't add that much weight to the car. I imagine they are also much less of an explosion hazard.

Pretty sure almost every EV has that capability. It's not anything special - when you slow down, the car is pushing the drive motor so it acts as a generator, and gives back a bit of the energy you put into accelerating. Instead of creating a bit of heat, you generate a tiny bit of power.

And they don't have special batteries, they just feed power back into whatever your main battery is.
