During her confirmation hearing, 7th Circuit Court nominee Nancy Maldonado was questioned by Sen. John Kennedy about supporting Illinois’ “assault weapons” ban.
Maldonado had signed a brief arguing such weapons could be banned as too dangerous for self-defense.

@SenJohnKennedy : “You said, ‘assault weapons may be banned because they’re extraordinarily dangerous and are not appropriate for legitimate self-defense purposes.’ Tell me what you meant by assault weapons?”

that makes it an ‘assault weapon’, and I stand by that definition!.”...///

God forbid AMERICANS start arming themselves with ‘DANGEROUS WEAPONS” to defend themselves. If the friggin’ Mexicans had done that, they all wouldn’t be running to America like yellow dogs hiding behind the AMERICAN flag.

Did you want any of Biden’s nominees to be experts at what they act on or issue rulings on? That ain’t gonna happen. Slow Joe picks people based on ho many oppressed minority boxes they tick. Not efficacy in the subject matters they would deal with. That would be, why, why, why, that’s crazy talk, that’s what that is!

They want them banned because they are user friendly for women and youngsters.

Correct. Liberals govern by emotion, not logic.

Hey give her a break. She used the same reasoning that Ketanji Brown Jackson brown used when asked to define a woman ... couldn’t do that because she said “I’m not a biologist.”

They are whatever the DOJ says they are. Then the infringement.

Democrat nominees are, as a rule (requirement), stupid and uninformed.
Same as their voters.

I’m afraid of doctrinaire hard leftist communist: Nazi: progressive apparatchik “judges” trashing our US Constitution and stealing our civil liberties as free citizens

All weapons are made for assaulting.
Guns, knives, brass knucks, saps, nunchakus, CIA letter openers, ... all of them.

Should fit right in, the 7th Circuit being the one that says an AR-15 and an M-16 are the same.
Bevis v Naperville Based on the record before us, we are not persuaded that the AR-15 is materially different from the M16. Heller informs us that the latter weapon is not protected by the Second Amendment, and therefore may be regulated or banned. Because it is indistinguishable from that machinegun, the AR-15 may be treated in the same manner without offending the Second Amendment. "It's a machine gun" is also the justification that Trump used for banning and taking bump stocks. You can take the grabber out of New York but you can't take the grabbiness out of the New Yorker.
