Lol… I am one of those rule following women. I just went on a cruise in October. We were supposed to be back on the ship no later than 1 PM. So of course I was back on the ship by 11:30 AM. :). My friends made fun of me, but I don’t care. I was not going to be one of those, “oh the taxi got stuck in traffic. It wasn’t our fault!” Or “ we lost track of time at the restaurant”. Nope.

Two random happenings. We docked at Cozumel. My wife and i took the first bus south to the Mayan ruins There were 3 buses. The tour was advertised ad coordinated on board the ship. The last bus broke down and the people were 45 minutes late. the ship (carnival() waited because they knew the people were not back and they were coordinating the tour.

Middle of the night Holland America captain comes on PA we're turning to go to Cuba a kid fell down the stairs by the pool and seriously injured, Cuba is the closet hospital. No problem. 1 hour later a US Navy chopper took the id and to a aircraft carrier with a surgeon on board.

No one I know complained in either case. It's easy to say leave them on a bum f—k island in the middle of the ocean when it's not your tour that's late.

Good for you. We went on a cruise to Alaska last July and there’s nothing more nerve-wracking that they thought of missing the ship departure. It’s hard to put it out of your mind when you are ashore.
