so, if Rogers is willing to serve, is VP the best place for him ?
He’d be 65 in Jan 2025. Is he President material ?

I see Rogers as a potential VP candidate for sure and feel he’s more than capable of being POTUS given his experience.

If not VP then I could see him as Sec Def or Homeland Security, even secretary of state.

Director of CIA or Director of national intelligence would likely feel like a step down for him but he’s obviously more than capable.

I think Flynn could also feel any of those roles except maybe State, but also think he could serve as Chief of Staff though that role is likely too political and beneath him.

I also think Trump will take action on what a true cabinet should look like. There are 15 department heads and 10 other roles currently on the list. Simplify the darn thing and cut the clutter.
- State (roll in US trade Rep),
- Treasury (maybe rolling in commerce and energy and US trade rep, director of OMB and chair of CEA),
- Defense (roll in VA),
- Interior (rolling in Ag, Labor, HHS, HUD, EPA, director of science & tech policy reqts),
- Chief of Staff

DOI/CIA are redundant and should probably go to Defense so one common leader.

Eliminate HUD (to the states), ED (to the states), EPA (to the states), Ambassador to UN (we should exit). Other activities such as most police activities (keep the marshals eliminate the FBI) to the states as well but just not in the current cabinet.

That brings it to at best 5-7 instead of the current 25. Now THAT is a true staff. Maybe even adopt the Army S1-S6 type structure or Naval Fleet structure.

ah a man can dream....

That’s the $64K question.
I know that Rogers is loyal to a fault and career military.
If we ARE headed for short-term military oversight, yes, Rogers as VP would make ME feel better.
But, it’s not about me.
I could see Trump giving him some type of military courts authority (czar not a czar)

I think that, with the existential changes we could see, we need to look past the proverbial “viable political replacement” ideas.
Politics has changed and a great swath of Americans are fighting VERY hard to not let it change this November.
Even some here on FR and FRQ.
I do look forward having members of congress understanding that their oath, on election, is to the Constitution and not to the unending protection of government institutions that feed them money.
Trump will bring down that “diseased temple” but he’ll need patriots to wade into the fray to accomplish the change.
We the People will need to pay attention.
Oh, and listen to the Anons.
