Back when I was teen, and Sports Illustrated was actually a sports magazine and had an annual swimsuit issue that covered actual females, George Plimpton wrote the Sidd Finch article about an unorthodox MBL recruit with a fastball thrown well in excess of the current record.

It was an exceptionally well crafted piece and still one of my favorite all time April Fool's Day efforts.

Plimpton was great. I remember seeing him wearing a sweater vest drinking Miller High life out of a can. 😂

I remember that! The subhead below the title:

(note the first letters spell it out)
