JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A vicious dog attack you’ve likely never seen before is caught on camera. It shows a pair of dogs tear through a car in southwest Jacksonville while attempting to get a cat hiding inside.
Christie Barr was asleep when it happened around 3 a.m. over the weekend. She woke up to the extensive damage in the morning.
She called the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office and police went through the security camera video and discovered it wasn’t a person, but dogs responsible for the damage.
“I thought someone maybe took a BB gun and shot my car,” she told Action News Jax’s Robert Grant.
The video shows the neighbor’s car jumping behind the engine shortly before the dogs go after her.

Barr said they never got to the cat and it survived. “There’s no doubt in my mind had they gotten that cat, she wouldn’t be here today.”
The insurance company towed her car and estimated up to $3,000 in damage from the dogs. Now neighbors don’t know where the dogs are and are concerned for the neighbors’ safety. Barr said she reached out to animal control, but no one has responded so far.
“If they can do that to metal on a car, they could tear a human being up,” Barr said. “You need to take care of them. Don’t let them be out running the streets during the middle of the night.”
Breed? Didn’t see...
Pong!
Pit....of course
Just check the video. Sibling pit bulls. Hello!!
Southside Duval…
“Everybody knows…”
The Dogs of Peace. Funny that they weren’t Golden Retrievers.
Look like Cano Corsos
PING! SMH
Pit Bulls again
Some dogs, Pit Bulls, Rottweilers, German Shepherds, can destroy a cat. But for the most part, a cat will tear a dog up with its claws. I’ve seen film of dogs, wolves and foxes running from cats. I’ve seen sitting cats dodge a snake bite, their reflexes are so unbelievable. Combine a cat’s reflexes with its claws going into a dog’s eyes ... Ouch!
The stuff the dogs tore into looked to me like it was plastic.
O is next to I…
DUUUVAL!!!
That makes me think of Limp Bizkit…
“Funny that they weren’t Golden Retrievers.”
Golden Retrievers aren’t a lot of fun either. When we first ran livestock we ran cattle and lost more than a few to Golden Retrievers that idiots would lose or abandon “in the country”. The damned dogs would chase our cattle and cause injuries and a few deaths as the cattle tried to escape them.
I personally shot a few of them.
Then we started running bison and the idiot Goldens would mistake bison for cattle.
One of the scariest things I’ve ever seen was a 2,000 pound bison jumping up and down on a Golden and making a meat waffle out of it. It was pogo sticking on all four legs.
Oddly, I haven’t seen a stray pit bull up here in years.
Labrador retrievers?
What’d they do, *wag* the person to death?
Trash breed dogs.
I heard “southwest jax”....in 54 years I’ve never heard any area called that so I did a search for the woman’s name plus jacksonville.....it came up what is commonly known as Westside. Specifically Collins road.
It’s official.....the media is ALWAYS wrong.
