80’s are somewhat of a mystery to me...but I do remember big hair, large hoop earrings and CFM 5 inch heels, where she wasn’t looking for Mr. Right, she was looking for Mr. Right-now.

Tony Joe White composed the song and lyrics of “Rainy Night In Georgia (Brook Benton had a hit with it- and it made quite a lot of writer’s royalties for Tony throughout his life).

Many do not know what a great performer, troubador and writer/player was Tony Joe White. He continued to tour and do concerts right up until the day he died.

Most of the Iron Butterfly catalog is just amazing.
That era of the 1960s and 70s had so many talented people with REAL talent.
I discover great old stuff most every week on YouTube

Yeah but Lou Reed wrote the songs.

Both Dick Wagner & Steve Hunter were really more like studio musicians that played with Lou Reed occasionally. They also played with KISS & Alice Cooper, though they were members of bands at various times in their earlier careers that they played with regularly.

When I saw Hunter, I could only think of Hunter Biden, LOL. Not even sure I noticed Wagner. I didn't usually pay much attention to folks like them, because I wasn't a big purchaser of music so I wouldn't have read any of the linear notes. I would get my music by taping music off the radio, then transferring the songs I liked onto another tape. Sometimes I wouldn't even know who did the song if they didn't state it or I never captured it on tape. Sometimes my friends will state the name or group, & I would know that way.🤣

We’d need a whole other thread for songs now forbidden. How about Eddie Cantor’s “The Dumber They Come, The Better I Like ‘Em!”
