Oh, yeah. I guess all 80s dance movies are the same to them. Have you ever seen Patrick Swayze and Kevin Bacon together?
I wrote to him when he was on Twitter. He hit ‘like’ but I do not remember what I wrote. He went off it at one point. I thought it was because of something political but now I wonder if it was health related.
Ouch. Some of my first memories out of childhood were to his music.
They keep getting closer….😳
1970’s am car radio vibes
The Raspberries were the first concert that I ever went to. Ocean City, MD. Brownsville Station was the opening act. Good times back then.
Suddenly I feel real old.
Double dang :(
Both Dirty Dancing and Footloose should be every list of the 10 worst movies ever made
Another very talented musician gone. :-(
It would seem he got his wish, though, in his final years, marrying and staying married until the end, so, not “All by himself (anymore)” ...
May he Rest In Peace, and prayers for his family and friends.
Big hits I recognize:
All By Myself
Hungry Eyes
Make Me lose control
Never gonna fall in love again
He stole from the second movement of Rachmaninov's Piano Concerto #2 for "All by Myself." He stole from the third movement of Rachmaninov's Symphony #2 for "Never Fall in Love Again."
In doing so, he continued in the honored tradition of Neil Diamond and Alan & Marilyn Bergman, who stole from the second movement of Rachmaninov's Symphony #2 for "You Don't Bring Me Flowers." And who could forget 1945's "Full Moon and Empty Arms," stolen from the third movement of Rachmaninov's Piano Concerto #2 by Buddy Kaye and Ted Mossman?
Sergei Rachmaninov would have been thrilled to know that his music lived on in the popular form. (He loved jazz!) He would have joyfully hummed those melodies as he deposited his royalty checks in the Beverly Hills branch of United California Bank.
This is old news for some, but for those just now finding out: singer Steve Lawrence (of Steve and Edie) died last week at age 88. It was either Weds. or Thurs.
Last week, most news hounds were wrapped up in Uncle Joe’s state of the nation speech.
“Go All the Way” will be forever a personal favorite song. Good vocalist. Rest in peace.
I very much enjoyed his music. R.I.P.
This is unexpected and sad. Eric Carmen was extremely talented.
RIP.
Another victim of time change.
