One cheeky and brave raccoon decided to skip rummaging through the trash and go straight to the source: a McDonald’s in Scarborough.
A video shared on TikTok has gone viral, showing a raccoon making rounds inside a McDonald’s as customers watch on.
The person recording the video quickly makes friends with the raccoon as the animal takes an interest in his winter jacket before walking out of sight.
An employee is then seen trying to shoo the animal outside just before the video ends.At one point in the now-viral clip, you can hear someone say, “Give him a burger,” which would be adorable but perhaps not the best idea inside a fast-food establishment.
Many commenters compared the raccoon to Darwin, the famous “IKEA Monkey” of 2012. One cheeky commenter noted that the raccoon must have been there to pick up his mobile order.
The feeding of wildlife is prohibited in Toronto under its animals’ bylaw, which states residents are “not allowed to feed wildlife or leave food out to attract animals on both public and private property.”
Raccoons are mainly active at night and feed on grubs, insects, small rodents, eggs, fleshy fruits (like grapes), nuts, and vegetables (like corn). City officials also warn against petting raccoons because they may carry rabies.
From the Racoon capital of the world you get the impression that they have zero fear of humans from this tiktok video. Beats the usual McDonalds videos we get here.

He looks like he’s been eating at that McDonald’s. He’s not like the trim Racoons we occassionally see around here.
They seem to be all well fed like this one up here. They thrive and are everywhere hence the world capital designation.
Is this Scarborough, the suburb of Toronto ???
Expect daily visits to the counter from now on.
affirmative
Some of my in-laws lived there years ago. I was amazed they grew grapes in their backyard in the snow
:)
Way too sweet for me but Icewine where the grapes are left on the vine and picked frozen solid in the middle of winter is a specialty wine grown in the Niagara wine region just south of here. The idea for this started in Germany but Niagara seems to be now the main spot for it.
I love this guy!
Thanks for the video
Don’t they know a Hamburglar when they see one?
Dumbasses. $18.00 BigMac’s for a varmint. Wait until this varmint bites a kid. I shoot every one of these that venture into my property that I see. Good vittles. Rocky stew.
Good place to share your harrowing raccoon story.
You have a good memory
Dale Hollow
Houseboat
Anchored in cove
Boar coon aggressive
Bit me and I still bear scar
Gerber Bowie fixed him up when he tried another bite
Mercy killed him on the bank
Still have tail somewhere along with scar on right hand tween pointer and thumb
Secretary at time mad
She loved coons
MY family fed them as a kid. You get to know them, they are actually really nice animals. One got hit by something like distemper, and ended up partially crippled, and his mother from the year before would escort him to the deck, and always make sure he ate first.
I have no beef killing predators, but I’d give Raccoons a pass myself. You can see with the video above, they actually have pretty good manners, patiently asking for food, and waiting their turn.
