Jimmy Kimmel took a moment during the Oscars telecast right before Al Pacino took the stage to present best picture to “Oppenheimer” to read aloud Donald Trump‘s latest social media post that bashed Kimmel as this year’s Oscars host.
“Has there EVER been a WORSE HOST than Jimmy Kimmel at The Oscars,” Trump asked his followers. “His opening was that of a less than average person trying too hard to be something which he is not, and never can be. Get rid of Kimmel and perhaps replace him with another washed up, but cheap, ABC ‘talent,’ George Slopanopoulos. He would make everybody on stage look bigger, stronger, and more glamorous.”
“Also a really bad politically correct show tonight, and for years – Disjointed, boring, and very unfair,” Trump continued. “Why don’t they just give the Oscars to those that deserve them. Maybe that way their audience and TV ratings will come back from the depths. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!”
Kimmel fired back at Trump by saying, “Blah, blah, blah…Okay, now, see if you can guess which former president just posted that on RruthSsocial. Anyone? No? Well, thank you, President Trump. Thank you for watching, I’m surprised you’re still — isn’t it past your jail time?”

I’m disappointed in President Trump....disappointed he sent 10 seconds of his life watching this crap.
A fighter for America? He goes after good conservatives and leaders like Desantis (who is actually governing and making important changes) Massie, and Roy. He goes along with anyone who kisses up to him or gives him money, like Pelosi or that TikTok guy. That’s not fighting for America. That’s padding his pockets.
Trump is currently at 29% favorability vs Biden’s 33%. Whining about a TV show and its host is not going to earn him the respect you think he deserves. It reminds voters he’s still a petty child.

Nikki Haley collected half as many primary votes as Trump. Those votes can be Trump’s and he can easily win the election if he acts halfway presidential going forward.
Haley’s campaign served a useful purpose by revealing the number of dissatisfied would-be Trump voters.
How many votes do you think Trump will lose b/c of the Oscars? A negligible number of voters will talk about this come November as a reason they cannot vote for Trump. If this is all it takes, they were not going to vote for him in the first place.
When HW was running for reelection, the media did a gotcha and asked him how much a gallon of milk cost.... then harping on how out of touch he was with the average American. Media today would not rush to FJB and ask who won the Oscars, did he watch it? He could not answer.
This shows Trump is in tune with the social culture and its using culture for political purposes. If leftist Hollywood kept the leftist politics out of it, then your statement might have more validity for me.
Trump is Trump, this is America. He is reflecting the culture that pervades it ... it is not Victorian. It is hard for many us to break from being conditioned over decades that our politicians should say and act in a way that is mature, so presidential. Kimmel thought he was taking Trump down in front of a friendly audience. Notice how many of them were laughing laughed before it was revealed that it came from Trump! That is very revealing - Trump made them laugh until their politics got in the way.

I am sure some of the Haley votes won’t go to Trump, even if Trump said nothing at the Oscars. Did they watch the entire Oscars so they could understand and put Trump’s comments in context? I bet not.
The dissatisfied would be Trump voters just did not appear after 2020, they have been around a long time. Do they think an angry and juiced up FJB acted presidential at his rehashed SOT-campaign speech? This group of voters has a dilemma they want Trump to fix - do they continue to vote for 4 more years of FJB’s vision for America, run by people in the background that no one knows who they are ....or for Trump who they wish acted more presidential in their eyes but 10s of millions of others don’t care because it shows this guy fights for them?
Trump does not have to win every vote, just enough to take the electoral college.

Many people don’t realize that culture runs in front of politics, and Trump is plugged into the culture. And the popular culture has politicized itself, Trump is in politics now, so don’t complain if he steps in.
PS - All that “civilized” political class behavior has been a cover and enabler for destruction of the financial well-being and future of this country, destruction of the morality of millions of decent American whose children have to grow up with 24/7 media and institutional onslaught (e.g. homo marriage turned into grooming has turned into mutilation of children?) .... the systemic corruption in our institutions - givernment at all levels, private sector, education, etc.

There are people who think that we must have decorum in the Oval Office.
And sometimes, those same people think there must be decorum in war.
If someone wants decorum in the Oval Office, and that is all-important to them, then they should vote for Barack Obama and get it over with.
He was scummy and evil behind the scenes, but being such an inauthentic human stain as he was, leveraging Taqiyya (the Muslim allowance for telling outright lies if it serves the purposes of Allah or the corrupt Muslim individual) practiced exactly that when speaking in public in order to be “measured” and “presidential” while deconstructing this country.
If someone wants that, grow a pair of balls, vote of the likes of Barack Obama, and be an open enemy of this country and the values on this forum. Just be straight up front about it. You’ll get more respect that way.
But if you want to fight a war, get someone like General George Patton or Donald Trump to do it for you.
