Not true! Democrats and their mouthpieces act like douchebags all the time and win elections. Romney and McCain were “civilized” and got their clocks cleaned. Let’s not get our thongs in a wad over this style of politics, shall we? It’s long past time we stopped pearl-clutching over things like this.

Many people don’t realize that culture runs in front of politics, and Trump is plugged into the culture. And the popular culture has politicized itself, Trump is in politics now, so don’t complain if he steps in.
PS - All that “civilized” political class behavior has been a cover and enabler for destruction of the financial well-being and future of this country, destruction of the morality of millions of decent American whose children have to grow up with 24/7 media and institutional onslaught (e.g. homo marriage turned into grooming has turned into mutilation of children?) .... the systemic corruption in our institutions - givernment at all levels, private sector, education, etc.
