If Baldwin had been rehearsing a suicide scene he would have checked the pistol.
I didn’t know that she’s Thell Reed’s daughter. I had heard of Mr. Reed, but didn’t connect the names.
The most recent issue of Shooting Times has a feature on Thell Reed, who was an exhibition shooter before becoming a movie armorer, and who still holds the U.S. fast draw record.
So the puke who actually committed the murder by pulling trigger/fanning hammer skates?
He swears he didn’t pull trigger. Maybe true. But single action Army Colt can be fired by pulling hammer partially back before 1st notch and letting go. Also, they can be modified for “fanning”, ie pulling hammer back any distahce and letting go will fire. My understanding. Correct me any experts out there on the SAA. Baldwin did somerhing wrong...the primer did not self detonate,
Columbia might find that it wasn’t an accident after all, that the episode plot would be to jealousy deliberately off the new girlfriend.
...And then the perpetrator claims “the cannon went off by accident” or “the barbell slipped”
“Whatever happens the civil suit is going to ruin him. As Producer heβs responsible for everything that happens on his set.”
That’s my last best hope as well.
As usual, it’s a situation where ‘if anything could go wrong, it did.’
Lots of moving parts here. Hoping Baldwin eventually takes it in the shorts.
Will she go state’s evidence against Baldwin? That is the big question.
Agreed, aside from the fact that the person wielding the weapon is ultimately responsible for its condition...AND her actions.
Early on in the trial the subject of training came up a coupleof times......the answer was “mostly OJT” on the job training.
WHAT?!?!
Baloney. A prop gun is a fake gun. Baldwin used a real gun that fired a real bullet to do the murder.
her Dad is Thell Reed well known movie armorer/stuntman and taught her all she knows... just not enough
Still, you’d think there would be some sort of formal training program considering the safety and potential dangers involved (obviously).
A friend’s daughter just completed an extensive apprenticeship program for aviation maintenance.
Because of the obvious safety issues involved with that the program lasted FOUR years.
I guess hollywood hasn’t learned anything since Brandon Lee was killed.
oh i agree 100%!!!
there has to be a minimum standard, maybe this will bring one
One thing for sure, after the verdict when the judge said she would be “remanded” she had to ask her lawyer what that meant, when she was told, she looked like she couldn’t believe she was going to jail right then and there......which was the only emotion I ever saw out of her through the whole trial.
Even when a couple of witnesses were basically describing the victim dying in the church she looked indifferent and emotionless.
I can’t imagine that played well with at least some of the jurors.
