Billy Dee Williams — who rose to fame as Lando Calrissian in the original “Star Wars” trilogy — never cared that people thought he was gay in the 70s.
While speaking to Page Six about the rumors that could have jeopardized his career at the time, he said, “I’ve been called a ‘Closet Queen.’ “But, I don’t pay much attention to any of that.”
Earlier this month, the actor released his rollicking memoir “What Have We Here?” which covers not only his 70-decade career but also stories of the many famous people he met along the way, such as Marlon Brando, James Baldwin, Laurence Olivier and Angela Lansbury.

The headline is deceptive. Williams doesn’t say he is a homosexual. He says he hung out a lot with homosexuals because of the business, and socialized with them. He also recognizes some men are more “feminine” and some women are more “masculine” than the average.
My God, save me from this nonsense!
Do not emasculate all my heroes of days gone by.
Sure, next they’ll say Obi-wan was gay because he secretly loved Darth Vader. Luke was gay, or at least an incel. Don’t even bring up 3CPO or R2. Han Solo was not gay, because Chewbacca wasn’t human, but they were both boys. Hmmmm...
