My understanding of how Japanese Americans were treated during WWII suggests to me that they were treated unfairly.The idea of "camps" may not have been unfair but any camp that was set up should have been a lot better than the typical one was. And it's my understanding that many of them lost their possessions while in the camps and,as a result,were broke when they were released. If that's true that,too,was unfair.

Also,I can't see why "camps" for German Americans shouldn't have been set up too.

Colorado is catching up to the California long established Manzanar National historic Site that also detrained Japanese Americans.

My father knew many of the growers/horticulturalists who lived in the San Francisco Bay Area. When they were taken off to camps he held their lands in escrow until they returned after the war. He was given in gift some precious bonzai that were his proudest possession until his death. And, by the way, one of Japan’s spies was a nurseryman who lived off of Mountain Boulevard in Oakland.
