Rally supporting ceasefire resolution held prior to council meeting.A rally supporting a resolution calling for a ceasefire in the Israel-Hamas conflict was held prior and during the Athens City Council meeting Monday in front of Athens City Hall.
The council voted 4-2 in favor of the resolution. During the previous council meeting, the City Law Director’s Office advised the council against supporting such a resolution, with at least three council members agreeing.
For more on council’s change of heart at Monday’s meeting, see an associated article, which is linked to the online version of this story. A video of the protest appears on the Athens News’ Facebook page.

Typical college town.
Waiting to see City Council arrested for being terrorist supporters.
Ridiculous. Hamas just maliciously murdered 2000 Jews while they were sleeping in their homes. A horrendous crime that will be avenged by God. Does Athens, Ohio not fear God? How foolish.
Absolutely right! Even Ohio State University up the road from OU is like an insane asylum. I was at George Mason University which was far worse! We had a finance professor (unqualified) who used her class to lecture students on the glories of Marxism. As department chairman, I called her in and told her to stick to finance education. She pleaded freedom of speech and felt that educating students in the glories of Marxism was more important. I asked The Dean permission to get rid of her (untenured, so it should have been a no brainer). But she was popular with poor students and The Dean gave her the Outstanding Professor Award. WTF?? So she refused to let me fire her. I have droves of bad stories like this from academia. I finally retired having had enough of it.
The story had photos of idiot adult white females standing out front chanting that river to the sea thing. Most of the council is female. The feminization of America is a disaster. They shouldn’t hold positions of power. They couldn’t care less about innocent women raped to death with broken bodies, legs pulled out of sockets. Babies roasted alive.
This vote was toxic femininity.
Again, you had two examples of toxic femininity in front of you. We need to start labeling it as such every time we see it. It’ll have the added benefit of driving them even crazier.
It should be defined as hate speach, jmho.
Even Ohio State University up the road from OU is like an insane asylum
A far cry from the days when staunch Republican Woody Hayes taught an American History class there, in addition to his coaching duties.
Here is the problem. My definition of a feminist is a female who is independent, takes care of a household, has outside hobbies and doesn’t put up with BS from anti-feminist feminist groups.
Sarah Palin is my definition of a feminist.
There is nothing feminine about Feminism.
Okay, F^^K Ohio!
Hey ho, way to go, Ohio.
Had to search to find out this is Athens, Ohio.
Where was the city council on Oct. 7th when the women were getting gang raped and the babies were being beheaded?
And, city hall has not been burned down, why? They voted to support rapists and pedos. Their home addresses should be posted on light poles in front of their houses asking neighbors if they knew pedos were loose in the area. Just ask, don’t accuse.
This crappola needs to get personal. These are people making these decisions, not an office.
The title literally says Athens Ohio city council,,,how far did you have to search?
Athens Ohio is a tiny dot of Marxism in a sea of MAGA.
Too bad this isn’t Athens, Tennessee.
Sheer insanity, Desert. How can their souls have been so possessed by evil?
I simply can’t get my mind around it. But I always look at them and think how those are the faces of NKVD, SS and SD, Khmer Rouge, etc.
We think of Nazis or NKVD etc as faceless uniformed types. They were composed of people just like this. It would be so easy for the right leader to convince them to stand you beside the ditch. They would feel no guilt.
