Non-binary student, 16, dies after girls ‘beat her head across the floor’ in bathroom assault: reports
An Oklahoma teen died earlier this month after she and another student were severely beaten inside a school bathroom, according to reports.
Sophomore Dagny Benedict, 16, was involved at a fight at Owasso High School in suburban Tulsa on February 7, according to 2 News.
A school staffer finally broke up the melee after Benedict, a straight A student, and a classmate were battered for an extended period — reportedly by three older female students.
While her family’s obituary used female pronouns, mother Sue Benedict told The Independent the teen was non-binary and used the name “Nex.”
The heartbroken parent said the other victim was also non-binary.
The mom said Benedict was often bullied at school, and had fallen and hit her head during the bathroom fight.

I was bullied, too. And oftentimes, the victim’s own innate nature and circumstances, such as mine, hampers the ability to conform. It really sucks. And good riddance to those jerks, BTW.
It’s not justification, but you can’t change the nature of the snake.
I’ve learned to use it to never back down. There is nothing, outside of actual physical harm that can intimidate me into compliance. There is no loss that I can lose that can cause me to comply if I don’t want to.
On that point, it’s a blessing. But I do pay a life time price of working below my potential.
Odds are her murderers are black. Sounds like their classic M.O.
Oddly enough. Strictly speaking, "gender" is a grammatical category, and in English a property of personal pronouns. Pronouns have three genders: Masculine, Feminine, and Neuter. He, she, it. Pronouns are not "Male, female, and hermaphrodite".
Sex is a biological category. Mammals have one of two sexes, Male or Female. Science! More science: Pronouns are not mammals!
Re: “ a straight A student”
That probably played its part.
It would be better for children to never attend. Illiteracy and innumeracy can be fixed. Dead can’t be.
It was female.
And a group of women can easily kill.
Are there blacks in that part of Oklahoma?
That’s the nerdiest thing I have ever said.
2013
“My advice to a badly bullied kid was always the same: Get out of here. Go to better school, ASAP.”
My last year in public school was seventh grade. I was being bullied and hated the place.
I had a plan.
I waited until the last day of the school year and went up to the biggest meanest bully and started calling him names and hassling him.
He then proceeded to beat me—badly.
My mother had to come to school to collect my bruised body—and I made sure to cry a lot.
“Let me go a private school next year. They will kill me if you don’t. Please.”
It worked.
Of course, that was back in the 1970s...
Was “it” a female or was “it” a male? Was the other “it” that “it” was with a male and were they in a female bathroom.
When you identify as a freak then freaky shxt happens.
There’s far more to this story.
“Are there blacks in that part of Oklahoma?”
There are probably some.
Nope. Born a boy and allowed to act as a girl. Probably prompted by a “single mom.” #transisafad
No offense to anyone but it’s ok by me. If IT survived they’d have just propped up the loony toon and we’d never stop hearing about it. Here’s to hoping there’s more and more of this to get rid of the demented.
I was also bullied. We moved a lot so:
Always the new kid in school
Always the smallest kid in school
Had a weird “religion”
Was born an extrovert but immediately became an introvert after the first day of school.
I view the years of bullying as great training for adulthood.
“Jesus loves you, not your sinful sexual deviance.“
This situation is not quite the same as the old fashioned “reasons “ bullies had. This is the area of sexual identity and THAT, especially at certain ages, can be a real minefield.
Back in the day we had a real and aggressive in your face flamer in our high school. Nobody bothered or gave much of a crap about the guy. One day he made one of his campy suggestive remarks to the wrong guy, loudly in a hall filled with hundreds of kids. The beat down was epic. People today are forcing the people around them to think about and outright acknowledge their deviance as right and good . They demand their pronouns. This will cause trouble as we see here. It’s gonna get worse if I’m any judge.
One of the positive outcomes of being consistently bullied and my bullying went on for 8 hours/day, from the time I got on the bus and all day at school and on the way home, is that you develop a fortitude that nobody can touch. There is nothing that anybody can say to me that will cut to my core.
