A mystery dog disease which began to sweep the US last summer is still being investigated. Vet labs in many states are looking into a new, unusual disease that's been threatening the pet population and worrying animal health professionals, who are working tirelessly to determine the cause of the mysterious disease and work on cures.
Described as a respiratory disease and pneumonia that doesn't respond to antibiotics, the symptoms of the new disease include coughing, sneezing, discharge from the eyes or nose and general fatigue. The illness is progressing quickly in some dogs, researchers say, with a few falling severely ill from pneumonia in just 24 to 26 hours.
Many dogs have died, but how many remains unclear as researchers attempt to pinpoint the cause of the mystery sickness, said Kurt Williams, director of the Oregon Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory at Oregon State University.

Blaaachh! This crap reads like the worst propaganda from WWII. You may be right.
Veterinary virologists haven’t identified a specific cause and I’ve read several labs trying to find the etiological agent. This has been going on for over a year. Most cases like this have a known etiological agent and it will take getting to the right proficient lab to recover and identify the agent.
How many walked dogs in areas where other dogs are and dog parks? Dogs catch diseases when they are in areas where sick dogs are.
“Just keep your dog away from the evil vets and their pharma poisons”
Well the growth we just found on our Dogs stomach isn’t going away, and I’m not up on surgical procedures. So some of us have no option.
We have two dogs, one LOVES to go to the dog park. I read one article where it said something about “sweeping the tri-state area (somewhere in NE America) with hundreds, perhaps a thousand dogs falling sick to this terrible....”
Ok - How many millions of dogs live in the area? And 500 to 1000 dogs are getting sick? Sounds like fear-mongering to me.
“Hey Frank - we saw how we could control people if they got sick, lets see what we can do if their dogs get sick!”
Although it was helpful in this article to see what the symptoms are. Of course just like humans I imagine they can get coughs and sneezes from other stuff too.
Thank you.
