Some of us are saying His hand of judgment is acting here
Which is why we had the thread on the repenting prayer
We’ve been saying it. It comes up. I think people just don’t want to overuse it.
Maybe you have missed the posts.
Pastor MacArthur has a good explanation for this as a nation under judgment.

GOD’s judging the whole country. No reprieve until believers obey 2 Chronicles 7:14.
Here’s where we are now. Note that when the enemy comes in like a flood, the LORD will lift up a standard against them. There’s still hope for this nation. WAKE UP, AMERICA!
ISAIAH 59
Surely the arm of the Lord is not too short to save,
nor his ear too dull to hear.
2
But your iniquities have separated
you from your God;
your sins have hidden his face from you,
so that he will not hear.
3
For your hands are stained with blood,
your fingers with guilt.
Your lips have spoken falsely,
and your tongue mutters wicked things.
4
No one calls for justice;
no one pleads a case with integrity.
They rely on empty arguments, they utter lies;
they conceive trouble and give birth to evil.
5
They hatch the eggs of vipers
and spin a spider’s web.
Whoever eats their eggs will die,
and when one is broken, an adder is hatched.
6
Their cobwebs are useless for clothing;
they cannot cover themselves with what they make.
Their deeds are evil deeds,
and acts of violence are in their hands.
7
Their feet rush into sin;
they are swift to shed innocent blood.
They pursue evil schemes;
acts of violence mark their ways.
8
The way of peace they do not know;
there is no justice in their paths.
They have turned them into crooked roads;
no one who walks along them will know peace.
9
So justice is far from us,
and righteousness does not reach us.
We look for light, but all is darkness;
for brightness, but we walk in deep shadows.
10
Like the blind we grope along the wall,
feeling our way like people without eyes.
At midday we stumble as if it were twilight;
among the strong, we are like the dead.
11
We all growl like bears;
we moan mournfully like doves.
We look for justice, but find none;
for deliverance, but it is far away.
12
For our offenses are many in your sight,
and our sins testify against us.
Our offenses are ever with us,
and we acknowledge our iniquities:
13
rebellion and treachery against the Lord,
turning our backs on our God,
inciting revolt and oppression,
uttering lies our hearts have conceived.
14
So justice is driven back,
and righteousness stands at a distance;
truth has stumbled in the streets,
honesty cannot enter.
15
Truth is nowhere to be found,
and whoever shuns evil becomes a prey.
The Lord looked and was displeased
that there was no justice.
16
He saw that there was no one,
he was appalled that there was no one to intervene;
so his own arm achieved salvation for him,
and his own righteousness sustained him.
17
He put on righteousness as his breastplate,
and the helmet of salvation on his head;
he put on the garments of vengeance
and wrapped himself in zeal as in a cloak.
18
According to what they have done,
so will he repay
wrath to his enemies
and retribution to his foes;
he will repay the islands their due.
19
From the west, people will fear the name of the Lord,
and from the rising of the sun, they will revere his glory.
For he will come like a pent-up flood
that the breath of the Lord drives along.[a]
20
“The Redeemer will come to Zion,
to those in Jacob who repent of their sins,”
declares the Lord.
21 “As for me, this is my covenant with them,” says the Lord. “My Spirit, who is on you, will not depart from you, and my words that I have put in your mouth will always be on your lips, on the lips of your children and on the lips of their descendants—from this time on and forever,” says the Lord.
I always thought that Clinton, Obama and Biden, ARE God’s judgment on America.
Unless people return to some sort of morality and God-fearing lives, they will eventually be faced with God’s wrath. And it won’t be pretty.
He’s just giving subtle hints now.
And it will rain on the just and unjust.
And the way it looks now, if I lived in CA, I’d be prepping. Just sayin.
Anyone who claims they speak for GOD-D is full of themselves and full of s***.
California has seen worse. It’s just that now you can watch it on YouTube.
Soddom and ghomorah were completely evil- their,thoughts and actions were “continually evil day and night”, and there wasn’t even 5 righteous people thst could be found in the towns. Those,are cities completely given over to evil. California is bad, no doubt, but they are far from being completely evil in every single person who lives there save a few righteous like lot and his family were. There are actually some pretty conservative areas there, and many Christians as well.
So, comparing ca.ifornia to them znd saying god should destroy the state isn’t a fair comparison-
The storms may or may not be judgement- it would however behoove California to take a good hard look ax their policies and the current weather happenings, and seriously consider changing their wicked ways jusy incase it may be God’s judgement- however, another point of difference is that soddom and ghomorah were complelty anihilated- nothing left.
So etimes natural events are just that, natural events, and have nothing to do,with judgement. It rains on the wicked and just alike
I guess way back before humans God was punishing the animals with all those giant disasters.
My father was an old time country doctor who delivered scores of babies. He often said that God will surely punish this country for allowing abortion. I think Dad was right and we will see trials and tribulations that will tear this country apart unless we turn back to God.
While I’m not a bible scholar or even a practicing Christian, as far as I know God has apologized once. That was a rainbow after the flood.
What CA is going through right now is NOTHING compared to what is coming.
Don’t worry... God is not mocked... you will not have to wait long to see His wrath poured out here.
But be careful what you wish for...
It’s better to escape it.
Do you know how?
God is patient. He gave Jerusalem 400 years to repent. But judgement came.
Sodom and Gomorrah did not have "global reach".
Hard headed souls like me sometimes need a bit more of an attitude adjustment than others do before we’ll turn to God for help. Some of us think we are or should be totally self-reliant, but that’s not true. And I know I’m not the only one.
And, it’s even sadder to say, but some knowingly or unknowingly choose to be the examples of why we shouldn’t do those things we’re told not to do. Nonetheless, even then, they can be forgiven.
However, from what I’ve read, their sins are shared by the watchmen on the walls who said nothing and failed to warn them. However you look at it, there sure are lots of attitudes that need adjusting!
To that end, God’s in charge of it all, weather included, and I think we are still in the time of His Grace and Mercy. So, I see weather events as being educational and more like corrections and warnings to remind us, than strictly being punishments.
I think the punishment part of our itinerary comes next when this time of Grace and Mercy is over. These signs and mile markers we’re passing are noteworthy if for nothing else than to tell us we’re on the wrong road, since the pavement ended and turned to gravel some ways back and it’s getting rougher, too.
We reap what we sow and we have been sowing some seriously evil seeds like there won’t be any consequences.
I think He has a hedge of protection around us all, both individuals and this nation. He has marked us as His, His Blood is on our lintel, so to speak, so evil passes us by and we are spared.
But, He also will let things pass through so that our sins find us, like with 9/11 for one example. I think that’s one He let through and that time it was our towers that fell.
Too bad we didn’t learn much from it and, of course, we didn’t pass any that wisdom on to the next generation.
As it is now, we’re still killing them before they’re born. D’oh!!
These rains happened before California went bad too.
The media exaggerates these rainstorms. They’re perfectly normal and not particularly harmful. In fact they’re quite helpful.
Your premise, though, is fine.
Look at the streets of San Francisco and the homeless camps in cities.
Not normal and needed rain.
And he said unto Abram, Know of a surety that thy seed shall be a stranger in a land that is not theirs, and shall serve them; and they shall afflict them four hundred years; And also that nation, whom they shall serve, will I judge: and afterward shall they come out with great substance. And thou shalt go to thy fathers in peace; thou shalt be buried in a good old age. But in the fourth generation they shall come hither again: for the iniquity of the Amorites is not yet full. (Genesis 15:13-16)
The Lord is longsuffering, and of great mercy, forgiving iniquity and transgression, and by no means clearing the guilty, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation. (Numbers 14:18)
The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. (2 Peter 3:9)
the longsuffering of God waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was a preparing, wherein few, that is, eight souls were saved by water. (1 Peter 3:20)
The Ark should be the church, the body of Christ, which is not prepared.
For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God? (1 Peter 4:17; cf. Ezekiel 9:6)
God works on His own timetable. The one thing we know for a fact is that it’s not wise to provoke His anger and not repent. Eventually, in all things, He will have the last word.
