Attorney General Merrick Garland will be out of commission this weekend due to back surgery and is going out of his way to make sure that there are no doubts about who will be in charge during his absence.

(snip)

Garland, 71, will turn over his duties to the Justice Department’s No. 2 official — Deputy Attorney General Lisa Monaco — during the surgery and while he recovers from the anesthesia, Hinojosa said. He’s expected to return to work the following week, she said.

Using the word "back" without saying spinal is misleading to 90% of the dimwits who follow the MSM.

I.E. . What "back surgery" only takes a week to recover from? are they removing a mole?

fwiw..they obviously are not doing anything with his spine.

The word “power” reeks of dictatorship. The word “authority” would be preferable. As an inspector in aerospace, our question was “what is your authority?” If it was not clearly delineated and signed off, it didn’t account for diddlysquat. Engineers used to try to get us to accept verbal requests - uh uh, not buyin’ it.
